Canned in November, not super fresh I was intrigued.
Robust roasty cocoa and coffee just absolutely pop. The smoke is more subtle, showing in the middle as kind of a tart, heavy, wet smoke. It doesn't jibe perfectly. The smoke at the finish is clean and well incorporated. Definitely worth trying.

Pitch black with a frothy tan head. Great retention and sheets of lacing.
Smells of cacao and bittersweet dark chocolate, burnt toast, coffee and vanilla.
Tastes like tons of dark chocolate, cacao, burnt toast, dark roast coffee, and a hint of vanilla. Maybe just a hint of smoke?
Medium mouthfeel, moderate carbonation.
A decent stout. I just wish it actually showed more on the peat smoke.

Dark brown pour is black in the pint with a big head of dark tan foam... Aromas expectedly full of roasty char and hints of peaty smoke... Flavors are bittersweet - more bitter than sweet - with elements of coffee, ash, dry cocoa and peat - perhaps even a hint of iodine... Mellow and smooth, medium body, moderate carbonation... Little bit of bitter, smoky, herbal, and faintly medicinal notes on the finish... As a "peat-smoked" stout, it basically delivers on its name... 11/20/18 canning...

On tap at DeCicco's in Armonk, New York. Straight forward American Stout with pleasant, through mild, coffee notes. A fairly easy drinker. Solid offering from Barrier.

Dark brown with red tinge. Roasted earth, lite smoke, chalky cocoa. Whoa. Big burnt ends flavors, medium smoke and deep.
