Pours a golden color, some carbonation, fizzy off-white head, which leaves no sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with some hop notes, slightly spiced. The taste is sweet, malty, slight hop note, spicy, and some caramel. Medium body, the finish is dry and slightly bitter. Would not buy again.

22oz bottle purchased directly at Epic Brewing Co, Salt Lake City, UT.

A - pours a strikingly clear golden/straw with a sticky white head. Lively carbonation visable.

S - Bready/malty notes dominate and not much else. Certainly smells like a lager (not a bad thing).

T - Nutty, with a heavy dose of sweet malt flavors. Bready character comes through from the nose...

M - Slightly above medium body (not quite full), Zesty carbonation.

D - Easy drinking for a lager, but the inherent sweetness gets annoying as the bottle wears on. This beer should NOT be in a 22oz format by any means...

Overall - A decent beer, a decent lager, but just that; decent. I feel that lagers get a bad rap so you really have to be top-notch to get noticed. This is not top-notch. Overly sweet and heavy for the style, plus it tastes slightly off. Finishing a whole bottle was a chore, not a pleasure.

22 oz bottle served into a red solo cup. Hey, we like good beer at work parties, too. Release number 6.

Appearance: Hard to tell the color and clarity, but appears to be a nice lighter copper color. The head settles to islands of foam.

Smell: Slightly metallic, earthy hops with a little general spice note. A little bit of malts, overall the smell is not too strong.

Taste: Mild hops bitterness with a little spiciness. The mild bitterness lingers after the initial tasting. The malts present a mild clean lager taste with a little bit of toastiness.

Mouthfeel: Solid carbonation enough to keep things afloat. The body is light to middling.

Overall: Does not jump out in any aspect, but a solid beer. I have not had many Marzens, and I do think this might be one that non-craft drinkers could enjoy without being off put.

22 ounce bottle, release number one. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A nice aroma of lightly toasted malts, caramel, some spicy hops. The flavor is a very drinkable Marzen; sweet caramel, those dusty fruity flavors you find in this style, sweet but still very drinkable. Light spicy hops.

A: Pours a rich copper color, nice clarity. About 1 finger of white, foamy head. Very apparent carbonation.
S: There is a decent aroma, but it is hard to pin point anything too specific. There is some malt, and a bit of sweetness. From time to time there is a bit of spice that is evocative of Autumn, but again this is not constant. Any hop aroma seems lost.
T: Fairly clean malt flavor, a bit toasty. Somewhere in the middle is a bit of sweetness, that hints at pumpkin or molasses not straight up sugar. There is a slight hint of spice in the finish.
M: Medium body, fairly smooth with a nice tingle from the carbonation that goes good with the hint of spice.
D: Overall this is pretty drinkable, not too heavy. Complex enough with a slight hint of alcohol that makes it a good cold season sipper.
