Best visit of our SD area tour. Great food and great beer. Imperial Red was the highlight of the night for our group. Will make a point to go back every time
I go back to SD. Pizza was very good and bartenders
were very knowleable of beers that were available. Lots of families at this location?
Maybe it was the Monday night visit but it seemed to be very welcoming to kids. Reminds me very much of a pizza place I grew up with in northern
Minnesota called Zorbaz. Self serve counter for food and beer orders but nothing to complain about. Location is very close to anyone staying near Sea World.

OB Pizza Port rules!!!!
Their growler prices suck, yes, but thier beer is nice and hoppy. They also, like all pizza ports, have many guest beers on tap. Sometimes its very crowded but the amazing staff expidites it quickly and friendily. Peace Out.

One of my favorite places in Ocean Beach.
Came in just to try some beers. A lot of beers brewed right there and only on draft there. The staple pizza port beers were on the guest taplist.
Bartenders were very accomodating and gave me samples of just about anything I wanted to try. After a half pour of my choice the keg was empty and I got the half glass of beer for free. The bar tender was quick to give me more advice on stuff I might like.
The place was jumpin'around dinner time and it was very busy and a bit loud but it didn't seem disturbing. Kinda fits Ocean Beach and the whole vibe it has going on.
I went here more than once during my Ocean Beach visit and there was something new to drink every day.
I love this place!

During my stay in San Diego, I found it necessary to visit at least one Pizza Port, I didn't get out to Carlsbad but this one was great!
The exterior looked like a new building and blended into the surrounding beach neighborhood nicely, a very cool area with awesome shops and a nice beach. This location had a small bar (which I sat at) and a ton of huge picnic tables with some small tables outside on a patio. The crowd varied from little kids getting pizza to people trying the beer like us.
The beer and pizza selection were both awesome. They had a huge list of house-made and guest beers. I stuck to the in-house beers for the night but there were plenty of great selections from other breweries. Somewhere around 40 taps I would guess. The selection varied across a ton of different styles, things for the hop and malt lovers. Everything was served in proper glassware and the bartenders were very knowledgeable about the beer. They helped me with a few selections I was unsure of by providing good information on the brew.
The pizza we ordered came out very flavorful and was cooked to perfection. The thing looked like it came out of a sun-powered oven, they must have a hot oven to get a pie cooked that nicely. I would suggest trying a few different personal size pizzas while there, they are awesome!
Out of all the places I visited, I wished the most that I had something like Pizza Port where I lived. It is very simple, a huge selection of beer and pizza, quick service and good prices. This place ruled, I will certainly get out to it more when I go back to San Diego.

Visited last Thursday at around 1 pm...
A: Nice spot... seems like a restaurant first, I guess, but it works. The bar has some places to sit, then there's a bunch of long picnic tables inside, and some smaller tables. Pretty roomy deck as well, for people watching. Speakers throughout that call you when your food order is ready.
Q + Selection: Pretty damned impressive... lots of their own beers, and then about equally as many guest taps. I had a Goldmember, While the Wife's Away IPA, and something else I can't remember... anyway, they were really tasty.
Service: The bartender was great... very friendly, helpful with beer selection and picking out a shirt... no complaints at all.
Food: Split some garlic buddies and a pizza, both were really tasty. A lot of the pizza looked great, actually.
Value: Very reasonable, for both beer AND food.
O: A great spot... definitely worth making the trip from downtown.

Fellow lardass, t0rin0, and I came here after a few ticks at Stone for some more beer ticks and a "place tick".
This is sort of fancy for a Pizza Port, the interior, anyway. Maybe it's just because it's so new. But you've got the usual picnic bench style seating as well as some smaller bar table type options. Nowhere to sit at the bar itself as far as I noticed. The bar is pretty much just a beer pickup/order window.
Like all Pizza Ports, you have your choice of several house beers and a nice guest taplist. This one seems to have the most options (other than Carlsbad), but certainly more than Solana Beach.
The beers are pretty good for the most part, but there are a few duds, too. We didn't get any food as we had scarfed down a few dozen double cheeseburgers in the car before coming inside, but it's your standard Pizza Port fare.
It's out of the way for me, compared to the other locations, but it's a really nice spot and I hope to make it back here again.

I waited 15 years for a Pizza Port down near me and finally got it. If you have been to the other locations be sure to stop in to the OB spot, the brewer is cranking out some fantastic beers.
The place is still a bit sterile for a Pizza Port, but there are less kids than the Solana/Carlsbad location. There are plenty of tables, a nice outside patio, and a mystery rooftop deck that no one seems to be able to use. For some reason the Ports have gotten away from the surf/skate videos, so that is probably my only negative for the atmosphere.
Food and service is as expected based on the other locations, although I personally think the bartenders at the OB location are a bit more on top of their beer knowledge...the bar manager is doing a fantastic job. The tap webcam is also one of the coolest things ever!
Beer prices have been creeping up and the pours have been getting smaller for stronger beers. I wish they used tulips for the more expensive beers, but being a beach location I understand.
All in all a successful expansion of the Pizza Port empire, I should just sign over my paychecks to them now!

This is what i would consider my local bar. I come here at least once a week. Most of the time I am there for their lunch special, $6 for a slice of pizza, a salad, and a Port beer. The bar staff is super friendly, and don't be shy about asking for a sample of something you haven't had before. They have a bunch of taps (about 40), including beers from their own site and other pizza port beers. They usually have a about two sours on at all times, which I enjoy. The prices are okay, not the best, but not the worst either. I wish they had better 'happy hour' deals. Instead they have special pricing on a few beers and that is it.
The food is fairly good. I do not enjoy the piggy bites or the portzel. Their pizzas are good. I suggest getting mediums or smalls. It seems the crust is thicker (and fluffy) and the toppings are stacked high, where as on the large they seem spread out.

The wife and I spent quite a bit of time here on our recent visit to San Diego. We love OB, and hope to land there in the very near future. What better way to scout it out then imbibing at the local watering holes?
Easy to find, clean, and stacked to the brim with awesome suds. Everything about the OB Pizza Port is top notch. They had some killer house brews on draft, and a ton of guests taps too. The proper glassware was used for each beer (including my wife's fruit lambic).
The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they certainly all seemed to be enjoying their jobs.
We typically just plowed back the beers, but on our last visit we ordered some Garlic Buddies. Crunchy, chewy and well seasoned. Next time we hit up PP, we'll definitely grab a pie.
Prices are beyond resaonable too. From beer to food, everything is affordable.
Overall there ain't much better then a cold beer a mere couple of blocks from the beach. Seriously, what more could you ask for? If you're in the area, make a point of stopping in, as this is a top shelf beer destination.

This is one excellent place. Only visited once since it's pretty far from my home but would love to come back. Ocean Beach in SD has a very relaxing and bohemian vibe and I just love the atmosphere of this Pizza Port.
They made a lot of beers, just go look at their listing and they come up with new beers all the times. All the beers I had were good, so go with an empty stomach it's not easy to have 6-7 pints of their selections when go there, plus the guest beers.
Lots of parents bring their kids here, very noisy. A very rowdy place but nice people. Probably my favourite bar in SD aside Toronado.
