A modest looking store with an above average selection. S&S liquors has been with us for quite a while and the offer quite a good selection of American and Import beers. Prices do range a bit on the higher side especially for a store located in DC, but then again their selection is worth the trip. Whether your looking for Strong ales, barley wines, IPA's, Hefe's, Lagers, porters, stouts or whatever they will always have a little of everything for the beer lover in you. Plus the help staff is knowledgeable about their products and can always show you something good. Plus they also carry wine and stronger stuff in case you desire something with a bit more punch.

Tustled away in a very obscure location near the Takoma Park metro stop on the red line sits S & S Liquors. Atmosphere is a little crowded, a little dumpy, but the store is organized fine and it's easy to get around.
The place is run by a Sikh guy who is actually very helpful if not down right unexpectedly funny when you ask him for things. Service is not too bad, the store does cater and bring in some items that are very obscure for what is around the area. Asking for questions or for things usually involves the proprietor yelling at someone in the back, which is done in a comical way. But he's always there to help. He also runs the tavern across the street.
As for the craft beer selection, it sits in one quarter of the store consisting of a section of cooler filled items and the other on the shelf. You will not find many bombers here if at all. However, this one store in the DC area that contains items that just don't seem to be on the radar of other distributors. Old Dominion, Williamsburg Ale Works, particularly stand out cause this is the only place I've ever seen that beer and it was here.
Prices here are also real good, and because this place is so off peoples radar, the propreitor gets in some odd beers that nobody buys and if you walk in you may find some real nice surprises. The biggest surprise for me was finding several packs of KBS on the shelf, many weeks after all the hype of the release went out and it all selling like hotcakes as it was released.
Selection is pretty good also in variety, but it's also not very large, but if you're lucky you can find some gems here. Prices also are pretty reasonable in comparison to the rest of the DC area.
