Well it's a stoudt so of course it's going to be deep and dark. This one though is dark black.
It pours with about an average size head, say an inch, is a deep mocha color, dense and leaves copious amounts of lacing.
The initial pour into my glass and right at that moment the beer smelled fantastic. Lively citrus hops and a strong roasted malt bill were all to pleasent. After that point the hops fades away never to be smelled again.
Taste, one finds a well roasted malt bill upfront balanced by bright citrusy hop notes. This beer also has quite a bitter aftertaste too.
Drinks smooth yet has a bit of chalky gritt and ash. Weighs heavily on the palette also.
For a random pick-up at the Craft beer outlet it's a winner. It pleases all the senses.

110 IBUs in a stout, that must be a record. Pours a pitch black night of the living stout style with a nice lively carbonated tan head forming thick and billowing up above the rim of my glass. Aroma is full of citrus, floral, and pine hop accents, with a dark black patent malt roastiness in the backend. Black roasted malt pairs well with bitter ass hop notes, these beers from Full Pint are extreme and this is no different layers and layers of hop pellet flavors like grassy, herbal, floral, citrus peel collided on the palate with a big West Coast style stout. Dark chocolate nearly burnt malts actually work well with the big hop layers if that's what you like bitter harsh finish in a good way, carbonation is working a full bodied approach to this beer lively carbonation until the last sip keeps me on my toes. Overall it's a great beer, if you like big hops and big dark roasted malts.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle to a snifter glass
A- pours pitch black, with a 1 finger dark mocha head that thins to a lace around the top of the glass
S- generous amount of hops up front, followed by touches of coffee, and milk chocolate
T- sweet brown sugar, coffee, toasted malts, some black licorice, finishes with a bitter dark chocolate
M- Full bodied, medium carbonation, sweet and dry
O- Nice hoppy stout, lots of good flavors mixed in, and one of the coolest labels going, big fan of this beer, and will for sure drink more up when i can get my hands on it

12oz bottle poured into pint glass.
Pours black with a nice dark khaki head. Looks like a standard stout, but the smell is much more complex then the regular roasted stouts most people put out. Roasted coffee and milk chocolate mingle with citrus hops making a very pleasing smell.
The taste is very creamy milk chocolate with bitter coffee accents. Good amount of hops for a stout too. The overall feel is creamy and light. I could drink this all day. Coats your palate well and evenly. I really enjoyed this beer and will look for it again.

Ok, I bought this due to the bottle/pk art. Kids are in to the whole walking dead thing, I thought ok, a beer to watch with. I also got the perc e bust brew, ya a beer to watch with. That's another time.
It pours nice, dark black, tan head with a little cascade, nice.
Tan head that maintains and does lace well. Carbonation is fair.
Aroma of toasty malts, coffee bean, earthy.
Taste of toasted malts, toffee sweetness, grinds of coffee, dark chocolate and chared wood.
Mouth is dark chocolate oil with a charred aftertaste. I did not get any hop bitterness as noted by other pa reviewers?
Overall a good drinkable stout that's true to style. I like that it's 7 percent.
And yes, it goes good with zombies!

I bought this and an IPA from this brewery yesterday. This one is significantly better.
Like any of this style, it is black as can be. It has a little lacing and very little head. The aroma is very much of things roasted or burnt.
The taste comes off as very bitter and roasted tasting with no sweetness to speak of. This is good for the style. The aftertaste is similarly a bitter affair.
Overall this is a decent American style stout with lots of bitterness but not a ton of complexity. The taste is easy drinking and this one I would buy again (the IPA I would not).

12 ounce bottle, stamp on label says best by July 2013, Lot 294. I saw "West Coast Style Stout" on the 6-pack, and that was enough for me to buy it! Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with a half inch tan head that didn't stay around for too long. There's a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, chocolate, pine and citrusy hops, and coffee. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, it tastes like roasted and burnt/charred malt, citrusy and pine hops, bittersweet and milk chocolate, and coffee. There's also a nice lingering bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy and slick with moderate carbonation. I like this beer, it's a good hoppy stout. $10.99 a 6-pack.
