look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: Pours a hazy honey color with a modest head that still manages to leave a considerable amount of lacing behind

Smell: Fragrantly fruity with a perfume of grains of paradise and to a slightly lesser extent, orange peel and coriander

Taste: On top of the wheat bread base, all of the flavor that I detected in the aroma literally blasts the tastebuds; by mid-palate, there is some tang and spicy yeast character that develops as well; the finish is well balanced and very fresh tasting

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation

Drinkability: One of the best wits I have tasted, domestic or Belgian; consider me impressed

12oz bottle: This one pours a fairly clear, straw yellow color. Mine had almost no head on it, and left almost no lacing. Lighter but nice aroma. Mainly lemony citrus, with faint spice and wheat notes. Some grassiness too. The taste is good. Pretty typical of a wit. Lemon, wheat, a hint of spiciness. Perhaps a bit lighter in body, but still pretty good.

Hey, my Full Pint is empty! It was pretty pleasurable too. But not extraordinary or a good value.

This seems to be a very competent wit - the right color, aroma, and a nice slightly sour taste. Similarly, the aftertaste sticks with you a little sour.

Wit Lightning is pretty just OK. I might buy it again, but there is so much beer and so little time. Ta ta.

Odd very pale yellow color...definately want to roll in some yeast sediment when pouring to give adequate haze

Typical wit aroma...spice, but lemoncitrus notes dominate

Appealing Lemon candy taste...refreshing

Thin light mouthfeel...weak legs

Light, easy, refreshing summersession drinker, not a stand alone beer

On tap at Piper's pub in Pittsburgh the other day.

The beer pours a somewhat hazy golden amber color with good head retention and decent lacing. The nose is prototypical wit, showcasing light honey, clove, coriander, nutmeg and light lemon. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, although there's some bitterness in the finish that helps to balance perfectly the modest sweetness in this beer. The wheat used in the recipe for this beer is very noticeable, especially on the palate (not a bad thing IMHO). Mouthfeel is light to medium, though the beer delivers plenty of flavor, especially for a 5.5% abv. beer. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile; I get no sense of heat on the finish at all.

While nothing spetacular, I thought this a very enjoyable, solidly made wit. It's a beer I'd definitely order again, especially as the weather warms up a bit more.
