Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – The beer is served a very hazy orange amber color with a one finger white head. The head has good retention, slowly fading to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma was big of a citrus grapefruit hop mixed with some sweeter tropical and lighter fruit flavors. The tropical fruits were a mix of tangerine, papaya and mango with the lighter fruits being more of a peach and apricot aroma. A light pine and sugary aroma are mixed with these producing an overall fruity and hoppy smell.

Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter fruit flavor of tangerine mixed with a bit of lightly roasted malt flavor. A grapefruit hop flavor is present right up front. It starts out of moderate strength and gets stronger as the flavors advance. Tropical fruit flavors begin coming to the tongue more toward the middle of the taste. These however are mostly overshadowed by the hop flavors due to the grapefruit getting stronger as well as an arrival of an earthy and pine hop taste more toward the end. In the end a very grapefruit hop and moderately fruity (but lighter the hop flavor) is left to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly thinner side for a IPA of its 6.2% abv with a carbonation level that is rather average. Fairly decent overall for the big hoppy and fruit flavors of the brew all while keeping it nice and easy drinking.

Overall – A fairly citrus hoppy but still pretty easy drinking IPA. Well worth a try.

Served in a pint glass on tap at 3 Rivers 6 Pack.

Hazy orange, clearly rising bubbles, with a crisp white head. Tons of layered lacing.

Smells slightly citrusy and resinous, with pine and hops.

Pulp, malt, lemon citrus zest all come through in taste.

Feel is thick with medium carbonation. Smooth with a really pulpy aftertaste.

Overall this is better than I remember it being in a bottle. It's a little too zesty for my liking, but it's still decent. Cheers.

A - Dark orange. Leaves some lacing. Retains a small head. Pretty frothy with big bubbles.

S - Little grapefruit and citrus. Not a very pungent smell.

T - Same as the smell. Some bitterness with some grapefruit and citrus notes. Nothing special here.

M - Pretty light mouthfeel. No alcohol presence.

O - Slightly above average IPA. Wouldn't get another one. Probably not bad as a session beer. Pretty refreshing and crisp, which is its main redeeming quality.

The beer poured a nice cloudy gold a bit on the dark side. For a hefe about perfect but a bit under for an ipa. The aroma was nice floral hops. Floral citrusy bitte, decent for an aipa. The feel is medium amd wet with a dry finish. Overall this is a very average ipa. Nothing distasyeful and nothing that says wow.

First had: on tap at Capone's, Norristown, PA

Served in a tulip glass, cloudy amber color with a thin white head that left a bit of soapy lacing on the glass. Citrus hops in the aroma with a solid biscuity malt background. Good balance for the style in the taste: citrusy hops dominant, orange and grapefruit pith, underlying that, nice biscuity caramel malts, and a small sensation of juniper. Finished dry and grassy. Medium body, and quite drinkable overall.

Stopped by my local joint thinking I'd go for a taste of every tap, but settled just on this one... I guess you could say I did it all for the Chinookie

Alright, that was weak and mailed-in, but when I passed up 120 Minute on draught to try this, kitch humor has been earned.

A - Dark gold, very faint Pale Ale. Not much for head-retention. Decent clarity.

A - Some grapefruit... funny, because I recognize Chinook as Piney. Perhaps it has to do with volume and duration. Compared to most IPAs this ain't shit. But most IPA's set a precedent that anything short of is a mile off.

T - Thoroughly enjoyable. Not a mind-blowing blast of hop grenades, just a well-balanced hop-forward beer. Chinook is a like the slutty chicks from college... it leaves for a very tenuous oscillating relationship when it surprises you with what you're craving, but many times it brings heartache or disgust.
Our friends at Full Pint have restrained their use of Chinook enough that is gives off all the pleasant C-Hop qualities without stumbling into zones of crass harshness.

The malt leaves does its job. There's enough caramel to add some complimenting sweetness. Beyond that we're tasting a pedestrian flavor profile.

M - This drinks much like a Pale Ale, though I've been on a Doppel Bock binge, lately. It finishes dry, but it's certainly not substantial. I'm satisfied, but have no reason to be impressed.

O - Out of a random line-up I'd call this one a Pale Ale. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, I'm glad it was so session-able. There's nothing worse than an abuse of Chinook in beer... call it skanky Chinookie (sorry, couldn't resist another). Nothing worse, except an overly malty IPA.
This beer avoids both by playing in safe territory. Something too many craft brewers have forgotten how to do.
A nice change of pace.

Copper orange in color with a deep haze. Generally has a raw unfiltered appearance. Poured with a dense, rocky, off-white foam that reduces to a healthy cap that leaves lots of sticky lacings on the glass. Piney and grapefruit hop aromas with sweet caramel malt beneath. The pine hop aroma is dominant. Smooth but resinous feel. On the heavier side of full-bodied with nice carbonation. Pine and citrus grapefruit hop flavors from beginning to end with pine hop flavors being dominant. A sweet malty caramel malty backbone throughout. Finishes with a a pine hoppy bitterness. Thoroughtly enjoyed this IPA. Would have it time and agian.

A - Light to medium orange with a yellow glow and a small amount of white head.

S - Grapefruit, pine, some orange zest. Slight sweetness.

T - Follows the nose. A good bitterness up front. Citrus, pine, some herbal notes and a slight caramel sweetness.

M - Light body. Moderate carbonation.

tap

Pours a hazy amber gold with a thin white head.

Smells of mild wet hops and a bit of citrus and malt grain.

Tastes very floral hoppy, but not too bitter, with hints of clover and honey.

Body is medium with a mild tingly carbonation over the tongue.

Really good tasty IPA that will appease hop heads while also not turning off fans of maltier beers. Brings a lot to the table while remaining refreshingly light and sessionable. Full Pint is going to be a really good brewery if it keeps producing beers like this.

On tap at the Wexford Ale House.

A: Pours a hazy orangish brown color with a small off white foam head that quickly dissipates. No lacing.

S: Lots of bitter floral hops are present. There is a slight scent of bready malt, but the hops is up front.

T: Very bitter and very hoppy. The floral hops dominate at first taste but the oh so slight bready malt character shows up and takes a little of the edge off. Still quite hoppy.

M: Slightly slick and bitter.

D: I really enjoy the taste of this beer, could easily drink more than one in a sitting.

A-Lightly hazed orange kissed copper with a medium white head that reduced to a thin cap and left thick lace.

S-Called Chinookie for a reason....lots of citrus Chinook hop aroma to go around here. Light touches of fresh cut hay and grapefruit rind in the background. Sweet caramel malt base adds nice support to the hop bill.

T-Surprised with the forward caramel malt sweetness. After this initial wave passes by a pleasant zip of fresh squeezed citrus and rind bitterness emerges.

M-Medium bodied with a full flavour profile and nice lingering hop bitterness.

D-Good certainly but not my style of IPA to fall in love with. A touch too malt forward for me. I do appreciate the balance and can see why this is an enjoyable brew, but not an earth shaking one.

Had on tap 8/20/10 at Bar Louie in Station Square

A - cloudy, oxidized copper color, small persistent head and lacing. Mmmmm.

S - Floral and citrus hop, hint of malt, nothing special

T - Sharp citrus hop that hits first, then balanced by moderate sweet malt which arises more slowly. Alcohol is well masked, but i suspect a fairly high (7-8%) abv

M - Moderately full. What I like best about this beer. This sure ain't high gravity macro brew.

D - Full Pint calls this an Imperial pale ale (?). Certainly not a session beer, heavier than the average ipa. But great for having one or two or with food.

A very good local offering.

Lots of fresh grassy floral spicy hop notes in the nose. Slightly cloudy color, reddish copper pigment. Oily mouthfeel with a full presence on tongue. Plenty of malt here for a full body. Lingering finish. Quite good and definitely worth seeking out.

A morderately dark IPA, dark orange in color with lots of lacing and soapy bubbles.

Aroma is very hop forward, pine, resin and a bit of caramel malt greet the nose.

Tastes pretty balanced, with a slight lean towards the hoppy side. Hops are spicy, lending a peppery bite to the beer.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability: Easy drinking, good hop flavor and enough malt background to keep it from being one dimensional. My favorite beer from the Full Pint line.

Pours a hazy orange-ish color with an off white head. In the aroma, piney hops and a citrus hop undertone. In the taste, a bit spicy and pine like hops. A small bitterness and medium bodied mouthfeel, with a spicy, almost peppery, and pine like aftertaste. I like the name and the inventiveness of this IPA. Great new local!

Had on tap at Mad Mex in Monroeville.

Pretty nice amber color with a creamy white head that fell to a solid thin cap on top. Not much lacing at all. A swirl around the glass builds the head back up to a creamy foam.

Smell is good but nothing in your face. Citrusy hops in the back. A bit of caramel malt sweetness.

Taste was very surprising. From the aroma I wouldn't have expected this much hoppiness. Very bold hop flavor. Citrus, citrus, and more citrusy. Bubble gum comes to mind. Backed up with caramel malt sweetness. Super bitter but I don't mind that at all. Bitterness sticks in the back of the throat and lingers.

Mouthfeel was up to par. Pretty nice. Medium body and maybe pushing chewy. Creamy finish. Perfect carbonation.

Drinkability is kinda not too high cuz after one I was pretty content. Filled me up and the bitterness was enough after one. Solid IPA if your gonna just have one beer. I wouldn't session with it though. ABV was unknown but I would guess 7%ish cuz I definitely felt it.

I'd ge it again. Nice beer to get on tap.

Had this on tap at Piper's Pub in Pittsburgh on vacation. If I knew that this hadn't been entered before, I would have written down the abv. Poured a light copper colour that started with thick white head. Not too much lacing or head retention. Smells very sweet with floral and citrus hops. Taste has subdued bitterness, but pleasant. Quite a nice IPA, but nothing outstanding.

A - pours with a small head of white foam on a hazy, amber brown body. The head settles at a moderate pace and leaves light lace.

S - caramel and lots of spicy and pine hop character with some sweaty sock notes.

T - Toffee and pine up front. Some sweaty notes and caramel in the middle with more of the same and robust bitterness in the finish.

M - Medium body, moderate carbonation, and a dry, harshly bitter finish.

D - The aroma is nice, the flavor is ok, but the harsh bitterness really kills the drinkability.

A: Minimal head hugging the glass-beer interface on a amber with golden hues cloudy body with some small floaters in it.

S: caramel, pine resin, brown sugar, citrus, pine resin, pine and as advertised chinook hops.

T: This one is pretty piney which almost comes across as boozy. Initially opens with caramel malts and tart citrus with the citrus becoming much more sour in the finish. Additional notes of medicinal and floral hops throughout.

M: medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: Rates high on the bitter hop scale. Not bad but also not a beer you drink 3-4 of. Nor is it memorable.

The beer poured amber and hazy with a thin yellow head that pretty much fades unless you agitate the beer for aroma and the lacing is nice.

Aromas are of very piney hops grapefruit and sweet amber malt with a bit of bready yeast to it.

Bitterness starts off this fare with hints of pine and very strong grapefruit. About mid-way malt sweetness shows up and then is pushed back by even more piney bitter from the hops. There are strong hints of tropical fruit as well and as this warms they show up better.

The mouthfeel is creamy, full bodied, and dry with moderate or above carbonation.

Overall this is a good beer! I get a strange fruity smell in the aroma that I can't quite put my finger on and it does detract from the beer. It's an IPA so it's hoppy as hell! I'd like to get a taste of this on tap and see how it compares. I would recommend this beer with some good spicy foods. I'm going to score this beer about 3.5 out of 5. It didn't really wow me, but I'm not a huge bitter fan either.

Poured from 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass. Clever name and nice informative label.
Cloudy apricot in color, with a moderate head of off-white foam.
Aroma-Piney, citrussy hops
Taste-Big blast of piney Chinook hops and then some. White grapefruit juicy bitterness. Great hop flavor and mouthfeel. Nice match for a hunk of strong blue cheese or spicy fare. Recommended.

-Best by july 2013. Lot#288. Consumed 5/2/13.

A: Dirty orange , creamy, milky, buff toned head is slight, shortly holding. Thin broken stratified ring lacing of modest coverage.

S: Leafy celery aroma, some spiciness of floral lemon-citrus. Woodsy, fresh shrubbery with sweet toasted grains.

T: The marris otter provides a deep creamy malt base while the dry chinook hops leave a flowery, pollen like coating on the tongue. Some dry flowery pine and celery, leafy hop cones, with a strong level of dry hops linger quite a bit. A dry malt powdery leave with flashes of toasted grain sweetness peeking out every once in awhile.

M: Milky, creamy mouthful, dry hops with a soft residual malt coating.

O: Overall flashes of malt sweetness mingles with the dry chinook hops and a creamy malt base and residual coating all points to a solid entry and worthy try. I find the malt base quite unique here from the marris otter and worth it just for that.

A- Poured from growler (got on tap at bottle shop) into pint glass. Mid to Light amber color
S- Smelled lightly of citrus and pine
T- Very hoppy, immediately. Tasted some bitterness similar to that of a grapefruit, delicious!
M- Very crisp, had a fruity aftertaste. I loved how aggressive the hops were in the beginning and it had a nice finish, no lingering of any unwanted flavors (IMO)

Definitely love this IPA, I think its from around the Pittsburgh area, so I'm lucky that my local Philly bottle shop had it on tap. Definitely an IPA I would pick up again. (Modest price: $17 for a 64 oz growler)

Pours a cloudy orange copper color with a finger of head that quickly dissipates. Limited to no real lacing. Overall a solid looking brew but you wouldn't pick it out as an IPA on appearance alone.

Aroma is grapefruit and citrus blended with a malted caramel background. The hops are first and foremost but a level of balance does exist.

A strong but not too strong hop bitterness hits right away and quickly fades off to let the hop flavors truly come through with just a touch of maltiness to keep things balanced. Just as soon as the flavors begin to dance the hop bitterness comes back and washes it all away with a dry and crisp finish making this one very drinkable.

The body is actually very light all things considered and the dry crisp hop finish goes very well with it. The carbonation is just right. All in all the mouthfeel is the best part of this beer as it makes for a great summer drinker when it is hot and humid.

Overall the flavor is pretty solid and when backed up by the great mouthfeel this makes for a very good addition to any summer cooler on a boat.

This is great stuff!! I'm quite a hophead, and this beer stands out. The nose is fresh hops, and the taste doesn't disappoint. Bitter, grapefruit, grass, and sweaty IPA goodness. Extremely drinkable and yet it can go head to head with bigger IPAs. I'll be buying this by the case. Full Pint does it again!
