I recently went to Mount Pleasant Brewing Company, which is the sister company of Mountain Town Station down the road, to check the place out, watch football games and to get a bite to eat.
When walking into the place, you're presented with a few tables, the bar then all the vents in a area behind glass. The place is quite small, but very relaxing as it's not overall loud, perfect to watch the games and socialize
The overall quality was quite good. Each of the beers we tried were tasty and what you'd envision them to be.
The Service was good also. Both of the bartenders were very courteous and attentive. When my friend and I had a question regarding particular styles...they were eager to answer and seemed knowledgeable with their beer.
The selection was quite good also. They mainly had the same beers as mountain town, which included: Cow Catcher Red Ale, Second Wind Wheat Ale, steam engine stout, coal stokers blackberry ale, Gamblers Golden Ale, Railyard Raspberry Wheat, Iron Horse IPA, Trainwreck Ale, Hobo's Breath Brown ale, and a few seasonals/specialty which were the Harvest Ale, Gruit, and a different style of wheat. A little something for everyone Being that I had all but the seasonals at Mountain town, I ended up trying the three in which all were good.
for Food, mt pleasant brewing mainly just has sandwiches and soup. the sandwiches are pretty decent portions, have some favorites and different styles (but sounded great) and come with chips. I ended up having the cheese steak sandwich and it was quite good
Overall a very reasonable place to go to price wise for beers (they were 3.50 a pint) and food (all sandwiches were 7.99), In a ways I kind of preferred going here compared to Mountain town due to the overall size and an easier time in getting a spot by the bar. I would recommend checking this place out when in the area and also purchasing their beers.

Stopped here on the way back from a road trip. Small brew pub, wasn't a bad atmosphere just wasn't busy. The beers were good not great but worth the money. The food was reasonable and not bad. Not a huge selection just some typical sandwiches and starters. The service was ok, only one guy was working but he did a good job. Good variety on the beer selection, would have liked to seen maybe at least one bigger ABV beer to try. But over all a fun lil stop if your up by the Casino or something.

A: Actually pretty cool. The pub area overall was pretty small, decent sized bar with a few tables, large window overlooking the production area. Large garage door attached to bar area, gas fireplace. A few TV's and video games.
Q: I'll be honest, my expectations were not very high, I have had their beer in bottles several times and never really liked any of them. BUT I was in the area so I had to at least stop by, and I was very impressed. Their quality is on the right track and all the beers I sampled were pretty dang good.
S: Service was better than average. Wasn't the great but she kept up and was pretty knowledgeable.
S: Selection was very good. They had their regular brews, in addition they had a few seasonal, and specials on tap. They also had a small "store" section with all the MPBC stickers, hats and shirts.
Overall I was impressed. I would recommend MPBC to a friend and I'd stop by again.

Finally got around to visiting the brewery. I went in with high hopes, only to come out seriously disappointed. Atmosphere is alright. Small space with a few flatscreens at pretty good locations. The brewery is right behind the bar and is visible. Nothing was brewing tonight apparently. Quality wasn't great. Their beers are nothing special, and I have yet to have a great one. Had an amber and a DIPA tonight, and the amber managed to blow away the DIPA. Service was horrendous. Some of the worst I have had anywhere. One person working in the whole place. The bartender/waitress was not attentive at all. She was visibly annoyed when I wasn't ready with my beer order only a couple minutes after sitting down. After getting a beer, she didn't stop back until it was gone. When I said my girlfriend and I wanted to put in a food order, she rolled her eyes and audibly sighed. Apparently that really put her out. She also gave me a 10-12 oz glass when one of the beers I ordered was on the pint serving list. Selection was 16 beers on tap I believe. That would be great if any of them were much good. The only was I can describe the food is that it sucked. Choices are like 6 paninis, soup, and a couple appetizers. Ordered an italian panini, and the waitress apparently couldn't manage to put the peppers on it. Peppers wouldn't have helped it much though. Not great. Panini with potato chips was $9.99. Yeah. Beers were $4.00 each, not terrible. Hopefully they decide to make some improvements (including staff).

I went here during a business trip to the Mt Pleasant area. The building is pretty cool. Lots of wood and a bit dark to give it a comfortable feel. When you walk in the beer and wine store is to your right. You can buy a mixed 6 pack of your choice or some wine from the area wineries. I got a sick pack and 2 bottles of wine to bring home.
Food was decent, standard pub food I suppose. The place was full of families and children, so I guess it's one of the more popular and lively joints in the area.
Beer selection was pretty dismal to be honest. They had about 6 or 7 of their own brews, and little else (nothing else if I remember correctly). I can't say I'm a fan of their beer. I tried most of their signature brews, with the steam engine stout and wheat ale being my favorites. All of the other ones tried too hard to incorporate strange flavors (blackberry, raspberry, etc) and just made the beers odd. Mt Pleasant is way low on my list of favorite breweries, but the restaurant is a decent place to go if you are in the area.

Located in an industrial plaza on the west side of town.Just one big open area with a fireplace and a couple of tvs.Brewery visable behind the bar.
Tried a few beers, and they left a lot to be desired. The "Trainwreck" certainly lived up to its name. A strange tasting, alcoholic mess. The IPA and Maple Ale were somewhat better, but still on the poor side.
Had a bowl of chili, which while huge, was hardly memorable.
Service was fine.
Good place for the locals I guess, but definately not worth seeking out.
Edit 07/2013 Ended up in Mt Pleasant again, and after reading the other reviews decided to give the place another try. First off the Trainwreck I had in 2011 was either a bad keg, or the lines were dirty, or something, as this time around it was a pretty good beer as were their IPA, and Black IPA. Ben, our bartender was great to talk with, and made the visit a truly great one. My scores have been adjusted accordingly.

Great place hidden in an industral complex. Their hospitality room is warm and very friendly. Warm woods and corner fireplace and a few flat screen tv's to watch your favorite sports team. Small menu but great grilled sandwiches. A small retail area is cool for shirts, hats, etc., but very reasonable in prices. You get a nice view of the brewery behind the bar. Growlers and 6 packs are available for purchase when you leave. They even have a huge garage door to open up in the summer time. Just a cool, unique place that I'd never imagine would be in Mt. Pleasant.
If you get the chance it's only a few miles off 127. Go west to the railroad tracks.
