Don't be shy, try it. Like any good I.P.A. this one has plenty of hop presence but not so much that it is not approachable by our hop-weary friends. Instead of biggering and biggering like so many I.P.A.s these days we are keepin' it real with a beer that will make you want to drink more than just one. Don't worry though, hops heads, this beer still has enough bite to cut through any spicy dish you might want to pair it with. Try one, or five, with buffalo wings or a spicy blackened chicken dish. Iron Horse can also go quite well with shrimp, crab, or other light fish, so we have heard from a few of our loyal patrons. So, belly up and try Iron Horse if you have ever wondered what a good I.P.A is like. We promise you won't be disappointed.

Pours a pretty good hazy coppery with a decent little off-white head. Solid hop nose without much else--very floral and not alcoholy. Solid medium bodied mouthfeel. Excellent flavor--solid hops but rich in something else I can't place that lingers, something else dry other than hop. It's very good. Overall a very yummy and drinkable IPA. My first brew from Mt. Pleasant Brewing Co, and I'll be looking to try more soon!

I'm trying this at Aubree's in Ypsilanti, MI. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving a nice ring lace. The scent is non descript. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with a slight bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/21/2015. Pours moderately hazy orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a nice American IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
