The Beer Trappe is a Utopia!

Revolving taps move quickly so nearly every night there's something new.

If you are visiting and you have any inclination to craft beer, Beer Trappe is a must. There's a reason why it's been voted aTop 100 Beer Bar in the country and the best in Kentucky.

If you are new to craft beer this is the best place to get a start as you can take Beer School or just pick the brains of a very knowledgable staff.

Nice night with Prairie Artisan Ales taps featured. Great beers, great people and a great atmosphere. All around awesome place, wish we had a place like this up North. (Even though the food truck cancelled, the manager told us about this awesome Cajun place right next door.)

If you like beer and you're in Lexington, The Beer Trappe should be #1 on your list of places to visit. The craft beer bar illustrates a traditional English pub facade and a welcome interior with lots of breweriana decorating the walls and pub furniture made from oak barrels. The sidebar only seats about eight or so and table space can be limited, but standing room is comfortable and there's lots to peruse, so feel free to visit on your own.

They have about 8 taps which all rotate. They'll have some of the rarest beer you'll find in Lexington and regularly have events and special tappings, just stay tuned to their Facebook page or website. Their bottle selection isn't necessarily the largest in town, but is hands down the highest in quality. They have Drie Fonteinen, De Struise, Stillwater, Jester King, BIrra Baladin, Prairie, Fantome, De Molen, Anchorage, Achouffe, tons of quality stuff you won't find at other places around town. They offer growler service and even have Beer School on Sundays, where their resident Cicerone and BJCP certified Kevin Patterson will teach you a thing or two. They don't serve food, but there are plenty of places nearby that you can get togo, and lately they've been bringing food trucks around back. Hopefully they keep that up...

If you've never been to The Beer Trappe, just check it out. And if you're stopping through Lexington, well, just check it out.

One of my favorite bars anywhere. Good selection of beers on rotating taps (my one and only time drinking KBS on draft!), and many more in bottles around the back wall. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The clientele are friendly. Highly recommended.

The Beer Trappe in Lexington is the best place to get your craft beer in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and has a cool vibe overall. The have great hours and the quality is top notch. They get all beer that is made available to Kentucky and also kegs rotating on the regular. Great service, all employees that I have dealt with are kind and knowledgeable. Reasonable prices, won't find better prices on the quality they keep in stock. Most of there selection is in singles, which is a plus for trying the pricier beers for the first time. They also offer six packs and growler fills on most tap options they have. Creating your own six pack is an option too, six 12 oz. singles get you a 10 percent discount. Their website is kept updated regularly, about every other day they update it.

Overall an awesome place and would highly recommend.

After waiting almost two years to come here, I was finally granted my wish last night as an early birthday celebration. Bliss.

The Beer Trappe, though small (and very crowded on a Saturday night), is very charming and "homey" in its decor. A solid wooden bar holds the main sitting area, and there are small tables just surrounding this, as well as some comfy chairs and stools. There are also some decorative barrels with countertops if you have no room to stand (and if you go in during critical times, you'll stand). It resembles a traditional English pub, but much more classy.

There's not too much I can say about the quality of the Trappe that hasn't already been said. With a stellar list of rotating taps, everything in the Trappe is always fresh and of stellar quality. All beers are served in the proper glassware at correct temperatures, which further enhances the drinking experience. It truly is a serious beer drinker's beer, and the Trappe's dedication to quality.

Although the Trappe was quite crowded on this particular Saturday night (I suspect it usually is), the servers were very courteous and also knowledgeable about not only the beers being served, but also the beers offered in bottles.

Selection is absolutely stellar. You can find... well, pretty much anything you want. The bottles available for individual sale run a gamut too large to explain here. The Trappe also sells glassware and other assorted goodies to complement the incredible bottle sales.

If you are a craft drinker and haven't been here. You have to go. It's as simple as that. You are missing a great opportunity by not coming here.

The Beer Trappe is a great place when looking for a different selection of beers. They have a big selection of Belgium beers which is a big plus for me. I also like that they have many beer glasses for sale that I haven't seen in most places. They have 8 drafts to choose from that is constantly changing which is great for those who love to taste and rate new beers. The staff is knowledgeable of beer and what they are currently serving on draft. I think one of the coolest things they do is they have beer school you can attend to taste new beers and learn about them as well.

Came into this beer bar two seperate times when I visited Lexington for the Men's/Women's Pro Tennis Tournament @ University of Kentucky. The first experience, I enjoyed two beers on-tap and then had to depart since I had work early the next morning. The second time visiting, I knew purely I was going to take a few brews with me to-go and also enjoy one of their offerings of the day. Here goes my overall review of both visits in one...

Come in both times almost at closing time, the atmosphere was very quite. I did enjoy how I was able to enjoy the beer in front of me and talk to staff in between sips. Easy going, English style pub with a small bar in the back right corner and a bottle shelving on the entire left side of the store. Dim lit and walls decorated with beer labels blown up to poster size and other branding from breweries.

All beers sold in specific glassware and to-go beer VERY organized with pricing on each bottle. Couldn't ask for better quality!

Service was very good and the staff seemed to have a extensive knowledge on the beer industry. This is a must in a beer shop such as this one! They nailed it here.

Draft Selection for first day included FFF, Stone, and a few others while the second day had Jolly Pumpkin, Dieu Du Ciel, Sixpoint, and Bell's. In bottle, Cantillon, FFF, Jolly Pumpkin, Goose Island, and MANY more sought after beers that amazed me that were in stock! They offered almost every style, great variety of breweries, and kept the bar stocked. One of my favorite reasons I will be back here.

Couldn't ask for a better experience but wish they had maybe 10 or so more beers to offer on-tap. This is definitely a top 50 beer bar I've visited so far in my "beer journey" and HIGHLY recommend if in the area.

The Beer Trappe is a fantastic place for true beer fans. There is no domestic filler anywhere in sight. The Trappe has a broad selection of singles that is balanced nicely between European and American craft brews. Taps rotate frequently and never disappoint. Draft offerings always cover a range of styles so there is something for everyone. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have never failed to spend twice as much as I should because of the wonderful selection. Atmosphere is quaint and tavern like. If they had food I would never go home.

This place is beer heaven! Great looking decor with the dark wooden floors, barrels to put your drink on, the coolest beer signs throughout the place, and 8 taps of hard to find beer.

The staff is knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. Not very talkative though.

They have a lot of beer for sale on the back wall with hard to find treasures there. They have a lot of cold bombers and 12 oz beers that you can dink there by yourself or split with someone next to you.

The only negative, kinda, is that they only have 8 taps. In a perfect world, more choices would make me happy.

The glass ware is top notch and the taps pour slow and easy, not to foam the shit out of your beer.

No expense was spared here and it shows!
