Had summer of '11, review from notes. Pour is hazy orange copper with decent white ring of head and some large bubbles. There is a light caramel sweetness and big hops, floral and perfumy with some peppery spice and a strange twang. Taste is a bit maltier, rather sweet, still perfumy with citrus notes. Body is syrupy, gentle carbonation and light bitterness in the finish.

Pours a hazed amber color with an off-white head. Sweet malt on the nose with a decent citrus character. A bit of pine and floral character to it, too. The flavor is on the sweet side as well. Caramel and toffee notes, a little bit of brown sugar, and a moderate hoppiness. Light pine flavor and bitterness, some floral hops, and a touch of grapefruit peel.

Re-review. In July 2011, I gave it 1.6.
The colour is deep gold-amber (17 EBC). The liquid is cloudy. The two finger head is off-white, it slowly sinks down leaving some lacing.
The somewhat thick smell is sweet, bitter and very hoppy. Exotic fruits, grapefruits, lemon and orange peels, resin and hints of oak wood.
The taste is bitter with some malty caramel sweetness. Toffee and hints of wax. Warming alcohol is present. The bitter flavours includes lots of grapefruits and other bitter citric fruits. Some spices and a touch or resin. The dry aftertaste is indeed bitter with citric notes, some nuts and green leaves. The finish is dry-bitter.
The carbonation is mild, the small bubbles smooth. The semi-smooth liquid is astringent and very dry.
Much better than last year’s batch. Still, it is a bit too astringent in the mouth.

A clouded amber brew, a warm off-white head with good lacing and good curtains.
Smelling forest, pine, resin and fermented honey.
Starting with brown bread, toffee, grapefruit peel and resin.
Medium carbonation, soft ans smooth with a good body and dry finish.
A good clear, no fuzz, DIPA.

A: A light copper amber color and hazy. This beer doesn't seem to be filtered as it is hazy, but there is no sediment and looks very clean. The head is about two fingers high after being poured fairly aggressive and it is white and creamy. Lots of creamy lacing.
S: The first notes that hit my nose is the big citrus, grassy, grapefruit hops. Shortly after that initial hop blast fades, the biscuity malts begin to rear up and fill in the background. They're biscuity, caramel and have a yellow sweet bread quality.
T: It seems to be a tug-a-war between the hops and malts and the heat of the alcohol is bouncing around rooting them both on. The hops are a big grassy, grapefruit quality and they have a nice spicy bite. Overall, you've got some white peppery spice, grapefruit hops, biscuity malts, caramel, grainy malts all filled in with a little alcohol heat here and there.
O: It has a medium-light, crisp, puckering effect. Tastes just like I like an 8.7% Double IPA to taste with some heat there to keep you in check, but not too crazy hot where it goes overboard. Very drinkable for sure. Thanks Anders for getting this in my hands and good job on this one. I'll be looking for this when I get to Sweden again next year.
