From co-worker it came with a best before 2011-05-15 tag. It poured a huge clumpy, rocky tan head and maintained a good 2 fingers for a long time. A medium brown color with red tones. Minimal lacing. Sweet malty notes of prune and sweet tobacco. Some mild smokiness and even a hint of floral hops. Dark applesauce, woody charcoal and steak sauce notes are in there for sure. Also a slight alcohol note. The big smoky flavor caught me by surprise. It's backed with some mild sweetness and finished with some leafy, light grass hops. A little sour and yes plenty of smokiness. Some dark mild caramel notes, dark dried fruits and some chocolate notes. A medium mouthfeel and somewhat creamy. I didn't like it at first taste, but it defiinitely got better the more I drank. Sour like malts came out to balance the smokiness and the hops also brightened it up and gave a nice finishing taste.
