Notes:
Arthur (1922-2005) was our grandfather’s youngest brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Saison is crafted from American malted barley, American and European hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Arthur.

Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a Hill Farmstead stemmed glass. Bottling date is listed as April 27, 2013 so it is less than 2 months old.
Appearance: Pours a hazy gold/amber and leaves a beautiful white head of a couple fingers which lingers around a bit before fading, leaving some lacing on the glass.
Smell: Lemon, a floral grassyness, honey, a hint of funk, perhaps some green apple. Very nice and light aromas.
Taste: Matches the smell nicely, very refreshing. Plenty of lemon, wheat-grass, black pepper, a little funk, finishes nicely with some hops.
Mouth-feel: Medium carbonation, light to medium body. Very smooth and refreshing. No alcohol presence.
Overall: Definitely a quality refreshing saison. Just a tad of barnyard which mixes nicely with the flavors. The hop presence adds an interesting element to the flavor, especially the finish. On a hot summer day, this beer is a savior.

Pale golden yellow fills the glass with a frothy bright white head resting nicely on top. An effervescent body makes for quite the welcoming site.
Lemony citrus notes greet the nose. Peppery yeast and slight honey sweetness round it all out.
Tart and fruity upfront but nicely balanced by the peppery spice notes. Grassy hop notes make a brief appearance as well. All of these flavors a carried well by a nice medium-body bubbly and crisp mouthfeel.
Overall, this may be my favorite of the HF saisons I've had so far, but I'd like to revisit Anna. About as simple and straightforward as a saison can be yet so damn tasty.

Appearance: Looks like the best of the Belgians, with the liquid being a cloudy honey color and the head billows with marshmallow meringue; incredible stickage and copious lacing qualities
Smell: Delicate toffee malt aromatics merge with some barnyard yeasty funk and a hint of grassy hops
Taste: The toffee malt flavor establishes itself first and then underpins the other flavors through the finish; fruit flavors that are cantaloup and pear forward emerge next with peppery yeast arriving in the middle; everything merges, after the swallow, with some grassiness in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body, somewhat creamy, with moderate carbonation
Overall: A really clean, well crafted Saison
