Notes:
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.

Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

I mean, what more can you do to a pale ale? this destroys zombie dust in my mind, wow is this good. it pours a glorious hazy orange color with an inch of cool whip looking head. the nose is amazing, pine and lemon and grapefruit, intensely hopped, but freakishly drinkable. the malts provide just enough backbone, and the yeast that was used clearly fermented every last sugar in this thing, its dry and clean and bitter and superbly well carbonated, and somehow very light and sessionable despite its packed in flavor. this is a beer drinkers pale ale, brilliantly hopped, literally like nothing else ive ever encountered, the craftsmanship here is unrivaled. what was missing in the hill farmstead saisons is captured here, I desire no more in a pale ale, and I think that I have found the one I am made to drink. like when I saw buddy guy play guitar for the first time, I knew talent and showmanship had reached their pinnacle, this is that same peak in an American pale ale, it is not equaled by any ive ever had, and I doubt if it will be. world class and then some, a must try for anyone who likes sessioning hoppy beers.

750ml growler poured into a Hill Farmstead wine glass.
The beer pours a hazy orange color, hues of gold and copper with some sediment floating around, a nice finger of white head that has good retention, and leaves a lot of soapy lace behind. The aroma is of nice, ample hops, pine, citrus, floral character that really balances everything with some sweet malt. Lots of bitter pine on the tongue, crisp citrus and with wildflower that binds everything, sweet malt lingers on the tongue. The body is nice, solid yet light, coats the mouth fairly well, and finishes with a lightly dry kick.
Verdict: A very nice pale ale from Hill Farmstead, quite drinkable, nice hop profile without being an aggressively hopped and bitter pale ale. It's not in the same league as What is Enlightenment, but this is a fine ale that I would love to drink regularly.

Served from a 2L growler into an Alchemist nonic.
Appearance- Hazy orange with half finger of white head tha left some fine lacing.
Smell- Citrus and pine abound. Hops are earthy and citrusy. Very clean with nice malt nose.
Taste- Pine and bread. Very herbaceous hops. Malts are there, but not overwhelming.
Mouthfeel- Ample carbonation and crisp body. Easy drinking.
Overall- This is a great pale up there with Zombie Dust and Blue Lobsters Gold Claw.
