Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.

2L growler poured into a wine glass.
Appearance - Deep hazy copper. Big white head. Excellent lacing. Excelleng retention.
Smell - Simple but clean hop aroma. Variety of citrus and pine. Nothing necessarily distinct or strong, but a nice hop nose. Biscuit malt rounds it out.
Taste - Perfect balance of hop and malt. Never overpowering. Citrus, slight sweetness to the malt, then pine hops. Biscuit malt in the back and just a slight bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied. Drinkable in its balance. Medium carbonation.
Overall - It took me two glasses to really appreciate the majesty of this beer. It's everything I want in a pale ale and just about perfect.

On tap at Reservoir in Waterbury VT.
Very thin brief head.
Not much on aroma.
Taste is refined and exquisite. Mouthfeel exceptional. So soft and balanced. So very drinkable.
An expertly-crafted pale ale in a time of very few pale ales!

Pours a dark shade of gold with a medium thick head. Superb lacing. Nose is just citrus, sweet and soft. Taste is very good, nice cintrus and malt balance with good bitterness.

Pours a beautiful bright amber leaning towards orange with a frothy cream colored head that hangs around and leaves trails of lace.
Slightly herbal, slightly floral, and slightly tropical fruit notes in the nose.
Taste follows nose with nice balance and complexity.

Appearance: Arrives a cloudy goldenstraw with a two finger head; good retention with clumpy lacing
Smell: Apricot and peach, complemented by citrus tones of lemon and orange
Taste: Apricot and peach flavors forward with the citrus building; somewhat resinous and a touch grassy through the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Hard to know what is a APA these days but if that's what they want to call it, I am on board
