Nice little place in a much needed area for craft beer. The owner is extremely passionate about craft beer and doesn't serve crap beer at all. Got to respect that! I had the specialty pizza and it was pretty damn good. OP finally has a place that's beer worthy.
They are new to the block so they still have some improving to do. They haven't received their wine list nor do they have a bottle beer selection. But, they started off with 10 taps with decent stuff and the plans are to grow slowly with hopefully nearly 60 taps.
Keep up the good work and don't let the westside hillbillies get to you. Sell craft beer and people like me will travel across town to visit.

An underated place, perhaps owing to its being off the beaten track of JAX, in a strip mall. Yes its a pizza place inside but the beer is above average, some very good guest beers. A bit like a Pizza Port. Staff were very good, Medium small bar. Try their red ales, their staple.A nice patio and some unusual styles on tap would make it awesome.

This place deserves recognition... it takes a major effort to hold the distinction as the worst beer bar, and worst pizza joint in jax/clay... you really have to try hard for that. Ive overlooked the extract beers and awful, awful pizza numerous times, trying to support a local brewer as I brew my own beer... Tonight I was lured back into this hole (bar ambiance looks like an ex verzion store)... on the premise you'd have 120 on draft. Upon entering this POS bar, the smug mgr informed us, patrons who ordered 120 could only partake in 2 total beers the entire night... and it gets better... you can only have a 7 ounce pour. They dont want to be responsible for customers driving home too wasted off this beer. But you can drink 30+ of their own crap ass beer, and drive home. Im fine if you want to limit customers to 2 beers of 120 so everyone can enjoy, but dont pull this crap. Ive had this beer at dogfish. Amazingly they do not limit customers... when kickbacks had this beer on draft... amazingly they did not limit customer consumption. What's also amazing is after ensuring this tool I had a taxi ride home, $200+ to spend, and 10 people coming to do the same, he would not budge on his stance...This is just another sad example of a pathetic poser beer bar, which will hopefully go away soon (Bold City). I will promise you this. I will buy this bar once it goes bankrupt, and i'll employ the mgr as my janitor

I really love this place. Service is getting better and the beer selection is fantastic. I'm always trying something new. Food is good, but I'm usually filling up on beer. I put on 5 lbs since I found this place, so I've started running again to compensate. If you love great beer and are within 30 miles you gotta hit this place. I love the Pinglehead, the Black Hops, Batch Sixteen, Tribal Rite. I really love the ever changing tap list, If want to try something new it's there, if I want a house favorite it's there too. I'm getting thirsty just typing this.
Maple66 has no taste in Beer or Food, and as proof Brewers continues to grow in product and clientele. No sign of closing yet, were was his brew pub again?

So this place is a mixed bag for me. When it is busy there, the service is terrible and it is mostly because there aren't enough waiters/waitresses and those that are there seemed overly taxed. The beer selection is excellent and they have many choices. The beers brewed at the brewery are incredibly good. I havent had a bad brew there and they have the complexity of a well established craft brewery. The food is good as well with more than just pizza and the prices are very affordable. If you are in Jacksonville and like good beer, get out there and try the Pinglehead and then try some of the others to see the quality.

I started frequenting Brewers a couple of months ago and now I feel like family! Every time I walk in the door I feel like Norm from Cheers with everyone shouting my name when they see me! It's very cool and makes a guy feel VERY welcome after a long day at work! I like beers like Hopticle Illusion and Southern Pecan but now my favorite beer is one they brew themselves; Nine Voices! It goes down smooth everytime. The pizza is consistently good and the wings are awesome! My favorite has to be the calzone! At $6.99 they could easily charge more for it! (don't tell them I said that! lol) I'll be back and I'll bring friends every time!

The wife and I eat here at least once a month or more. Most recent visit was last week (2/10/2011).
A: First, it's located in a strip mall which isn't the easiest to navigate to. Inside, the decor screams college pizza joint on a low budget. They have expanded their dining room and it's about as fancy as the original. Typical TV's, small tables and nice jukebox with a 15 seater bar. They have recently recieved their federal brewers license, so expect to see some brewing equipment and more beer variety soon.
Q: Quality is pretty good on the beers for a pizza joint. Depending on the style, you'll get your beer in a sniffer or a pint glass. Growlers are also available for $10.00 per glass bottle (or bring your own to recycle) and then various prices for the type of beer served.
S: Service is pretty average. The issue is that the servers are limited and though extremely nice and knowledgeable about the beers they serve, the kitchen is painfully slow. Moreso if the restaurant is busy. If you have time to kill, it's great to just hang out and enjoy a beer there but not if you're in a rush.
Sel: If requested, they'll present you with a list of what's on tap that day. You'll find about 20 beers at any given time. I've had Erie Brewing's Golden Fleece in pints and Weyerbacher's Blithering Idiot Barleywine in a sniffer on recent visits. Every beer you'll find on the list is a craft beer and they carry a good choice of local brewery stuff from bold city and the like.
F: There's not much variety on the menu. Pizza and dipping sticks are just about it for food. The `za is pretty good though. I do like their sauce, and the crust is chewy and soft. It reminds me of Buffalo, NY pizza.

10/4/2010 visit: food is still good, prices during the day are nice 4 bucks a pint, they are still in the process of expanding the dinning room. Love the quarters only junkbox, lol.
had CCb brown, Red brick (Atlanta brewing) porter, DF sai'tea
all in 14 oz shaker pints, except for DFH was in sniffer. decent beer at a good price, pizza was good, tad chewy, but fresh.
Aug 2010 first visit:
A: its strip mall pizza joint with beer, wow original not. Still its got nice booths, not much else going on.
Q/S: well they had over 20 taps of the same stuff every place in town seems to have except for kickbacks. While I think its great we have BCB, their beers are just not the great IMHO
So decent selection nothing better than any Euro street in town.
Beers I had were ok. Mostly they had pa/IPA stuff sadly. Midnight oil was the best. Since the BEST bar in town has 84 taps well its all downhill from there, and heck its the new standard.
Service: was ok, nothing great average in most respects, don't know much about beer.
F: its a pizza, fresh and hot, and few other things
Notes: its new and maybe it will get better with time, they fill growlers and will brew on site one day, but its not here yet.
Well me and the wife, well mainly me wanted to visit the new places. I really should not be reviewing these places on one visit, but seeing as its new, and the fact I will not go back again, I might as well review it. orange park distance is the main reason I would NOT go back, if you love it and are nearby great, traffic sucks in that area.
I try to be fair and honest and I want to be able to look someone in the eye and say yea its a great/fair/bad place.
as with any place or beer go try it, If you love it great.
I will NOT overrate a place just because it is in my town I live it, I feel that does a disservice to visitors.
I bet this place will get better, their web lacks updating and info.

A great place to eat, drink and spend some time having fun; everyone is very friendly and they make a solid effort at trying to get to know you. The food is fantastic and a nice compliment to their main course: beer. These guys have done it right. They started out small with a quality product and they have grown as their business has grown. Taps have increased two-fold and plans for expansion are already underway to support the growing number of regulars. No here-today-out-of-business-tomorrow; you can be assured that the great taste of piping hot smackers and fresh craft beer will be waiting for you served by the friendly, down to earth staff at Brewer's Pizza.

First and foremost I love beer and the only thing I love more than that is a Growler of fresh beer, I found this place. It was a recommended by Bold City's co-owner due to my question on growler fills. High expectations and a empty growler ready to go I arive...
A- Plain Jane slot into shopping complex next to what used to be a Cd Warehouse back in the day when I lived in the area. They had a pay by song Jukebox which was a plus in my book. Simply layed out tap selection that was about 12 strong give or take three.
S- Service was what you would expect with three or four people working in a new place would be expected but quick at that.
Selection-Food= Selection was limited and not well put together. Food was well italian with pizza and calzones being most of it... cant remember pasta. Selection of beer was well disappointing. Good beer isn't hard to find at Bold but here the selection is limited to beers other than 90min Ipa I was not sure about paying 20+ bucks on.
V- Decent but needs work if you want to make a client based business.
Update: 4/13/11 They have a 15+ selection which is a plus but growler price and limited beers are restricted to the market value high or none.
