Older building with its own parking lot, which can get difficult to turn into if driving in from the south on Lyndale (lots of street traffic coming from the north). Well lit store with a wide selection. Lots of coolers for beer, and even a cooled single beer selection cooler. One of the better stores in the Twin Cities for beer selection - lots of local stuff also. Staff is there to assist in finding what you want. Offers a rewards program and can deliver in the neighborhood. There is a listing of available beer on its website.

Stopped on 6/15/2019. Well lit and clean store with lots of selection. Especially local offerings. Was asked if I needed help finding anything on a few occasions. Will be on my shortlist from now on. Recommended.

Mail order review. Typically I wouldn't review a store based on an online order, but they went out of their way to be helpful.
Placed an order for an out-of-market beer and it arrived 2 days later via Fedex ground. Fast turnaround, and they contacted me right away to optimize the order based on availability/weight/etc. Their website has an extensive selection of over 1500+ beers, including local gems from Indeed, Surly, Schells, Olvalde, Steel Toe, plus a number of obscure imports. Overall I had a great experience with them, and wouldn't hesitate to order online again or visit in person.

They have a bit selection, they seem to keep making it bigger every few months, and they refrigerate a lot of stuff so even if it moves slow it will stay fresher longer. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and they will deliver locally on orders of more than $25.

They have a LOT of things. There wasn’t anything special the day we went there. I was kind of bored. We went to many shops around the city. This was well above average but not a destination for out-of-towners. If you're staying in the area, though, you can get a lot of really good local things to stock up.

I can no longer recommend this establishment due to their speaking out of turn for their customers with regards to Sunday sales. They have a wonderful shop and a very good selection, but to come out and say "our customers have never asked for Sunday sales!" Did you ask your customers?

A- Dimly lit. Beer is in a sort of hidden large alcove in the store. Unlike some other places, parking isn't an issue, which is always nice.
Q- Most beer is kept coolers with some on shelves. No freshness issues
Ser- Friendly, helpful, though frequently you have to make the effort to find someone and ask. Not usually someone roaming.
Sel- A tremendous singles selection, with a fairly strong selection of European beers. Domestic crafts are maybe just a bit behind Zipp's or Four Firkins.
Prices are pretty reasonable.

South lyndale always has a great selection, they usually have the limited releases. Generally they have all the flavors that are distributed around the cities, occasionally you can find a gem because their clientel is not solely based on beer heads.
The beer buyer is somewhat knowledgable about what is in season and the owner is around frequently and enjoys quality beer. The only thing I would like them to do which goes for most of the liquor stores in town is cellar stable beers and offer vintages when new releases come out.

Since moving into the neighborhood, South Lyndale Liqours has become one of my go to spots. With a relatively knowledgeable staff and a diverse selection of beer, spirits, and wine, you can’t go wrong. Their recent expansion has given them the ability to dedicate a fairly large area to all things beer. This includes a large section devoted to 4-6packs, 375ml, 750ml, etc broken out by international and domestic offerings, and multiple coolers organized in a similar fashion. The only downside is how they typically handle special release / rare beers…see previous reviews. Otherwise, South Lyndale Liquors is definitely worth the visit.

South Lyndale Liquors is always a fun experience for me. They have the largest selection of beer I have seen in the Twin Cities. All the locals, as well as domestic BMC, and a huge range of national crafts but also a ton of Belgium and other overseas brews.
The service is something to be desired. I have been in on a couple occasions when their has been a rare or limited release and you have to either ask for the beer by name(it will not be on the shelf) or you have to call ahead and reserve a bottle. Outside of that the guys know their stuff and are very friendly with helping you find what you need.
What you see is what you get I have rarely seen a bottle marked up here; very fair prices. Oh and a final note they allow you to walk in with your dog(my dog has terrible taste in beer she was sniffing on some of the big three) and they give them treats as you checkout.

I shop at South Lyndale Liquor a couple times a month as it is across the street from the gym that I frequent. They claim to carry 998 different beers, and I believe that claim. They have a good mix of local and regional craft beers and quality imports. They carry a lot of Belgian beers including a large selection of sours. The service has always been friendly and attentive. Someone always asks if I need help finding anything, and a number of the staff seem to know about of enjoy good beer. Prices are very good too, and there seems to always be a great deal of something good. Overall, South Lyndale is one of the better liquor stores in the Twin Cities area, and I will continue to give them my business.

Actually visited this place after tracking down a rare wine I was looking for. As far as the wine goes, I had excellent customer service and pricing. When picking up my wine, I stumbled upon a very nice beer selection. Lots of quality and a good selection of beers. They have a solid selection of imports and american with a pleasing local selection of Surly, Summit and others. I spotted some Darkness Tulips here for $3 after paying $7 at the brewery for mine. Overall, if in the area, I would shop here. A very nice beer store that is unknown to many in the Twin Cities.
