Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium to dark mahogany amber. Thin off-white head that fades to a ring around the glass with a little short lived lacing. Aroma of caramel and toasted malt. Flavor is mainly toasted and biscuit malt, with toffee, maple syrup and chocolate. Unusual and complex. Finishes with subdued malt and maple syrup. A very interesting tasting old ale marred by lack of carbonation. Medium bodied with a hint of creaminess. I enjoyed this take on an old ale.

Bottle opened on 8.9.12.
A - Pours a cloudy, medium orange with a huge fizzy light tan head that slowly fades.
S - Sweet malt, candy, bitter hops.
T - Barley, rye breat, old weak coffee in the middle with a sweet finish.
D - Lots of carbonation, light-medium body with a sweet-bitter finsh.
O - Ok, deep and complex, the middle taste was a let down and messed the whole thing up.
