Milk / Sweet Stout |  5.40% ABV

Availability: Limited (brewed once). nitro-tap (3), on-tap (2)

Notes:
Golden Milk Stout infused with 3 pounds per barrel of Guatemalen coffee. Head Brewer Evan Price worked together with Roast Master Jeff Duggan from Portola Coffee Lab to create a truly unique drinking experience. Stout with oats and lactose (milk sugar), coffee instead of roasted grain.

This uses different coffee than Don's Naughty Sauce, which uses Portola Don Pachi Coffee and was a collaboration with Playground DTSA.

Nitro

Churchill's Pub & Grille
San Marcos, CA

Hazed and cloudy dark, burnt golden with a thick, incredibly persistent, creamy head. Leaves the glass messy with rings of stick. Very pretty, and I've never had a golden milk stout before--this is a first.

Lots of freshly ground coffee in the aroma, some nut elements, and a honey sweetness. Usually, I'm a big critic of mixing coffee and honey aromas/flavors/elements, but it works really nicely here.

The flavor follows the aroma, with lots of freshly-ground coffee flavors, honey sweetness, mild assorted roast, and a bit of citrus/honey hop character as well. Incredibly drinkable. Very impressive.

Medium bodied with creamy carbonation--no surprise given the serving style.

A fantastically surprising beer. Will drink again!

Are you feeling naughty? Well, yeah, kind of. So if you are a freak, this lil minx will hit the spot. Creamy and sexi like a boddingtons; but tasty and satisfying like Blake Lively when she is feeling lively.

Get on this my babies. Get on this hard and now.

On tap at Verdugo Bar in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a hazy orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, coffee, and lactose aromas. Taste is much the same with vanilla and coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a great smell and some tasty flavors.

A blonde stout with vanilla and coffee beans. Golden amber color with a nice creamy head. More amusing than most brewing jokes. It's actually quite tasty, and seems to please the ladies. It starts out with an aroma that is simply sticking your nose in the bag of freshly ground coffee. Astoundingly flavorful with a sweet and bitter profile.

This is quite sweet with that Milk Stout sensation, as long as you close your eyes. The coffee flavor is really strong, but quite mellow and rounded and goes nicely with the vanilla. This is one for a short after dinner glass. On tap at Local Habit in San Diego.

Nitro at Urge. Described as a Golden Milk Stout with Portola Don Pachi coffee. Dark gold with a big creamy nitro head that leaves rings of lace as it recedes. It smells like an iced coffee with toasted nuts and earthy notes. Maybe a little citrus and honey. Complex and inviting. The taste is great, like a smooth iced coffee with a little cream, lactose, nuttiness, and cocoa. No astringency or alcohol. Just crushable. This goes down too easy on nitro. More coffee than beer.
