A Fresh bottle and a good nose, the bitterness definitely there, some grapefruit and orange rind. But no distinct hop flavour.Either my nose is stuffed more than I think or its their hopping(and malt).Bottle from OCBeerSociety, thanks RB. Not overall so drinkable

Poured from 12oz bottle into pint glass.

A- Clean golden yellow body, decent amounts of uniformed carbonation, little head and retention but a nice saturn ring hugging the sides of the glass.

S- The pale ale from noble I had before the IPA was a bit more hoppy, this seemed a tad dull, though there was some grassy pine and citrus notes. More on the bold side though.

T- Pine hop, tangerine and citrus zest, kinda floral finish with the rosemary. Interesting IPA. Nice complex and well balanced flavors.

MF- Surprisingly light-medium body with a medium sharp carbonation. Flavor resonates for a good minute or two.

O- Very solid and complex. I really enjoyed trying Noble, and look forward to so much more from them. Nice to see some local boys making some outstanding ales!

On tap at Toronado San Diego, $5. Yellow-orange color, fluffy head, lacing up the sides, typical west coast IPA appearance. Aroma is bitter hops, pine, west coast style. Flavor is super bitter, some citrus, again this was a typical west coast IPA. It wasn't anything overwhelming but I love this style of beer so this was enjoyable.

22oz brown bomber with no freshness date.

LOOK: Crystal clear amber hue, superb looking head

SMELL: Parsley, mint, lemongrass, biscuity, nutty, bread crust, grassy, hemp

TASTE: Smooth, slightly crisp, doughy biscuits, bitter, soft resin, thick herbal hop, mandarin oranges, a bit chewy, dried grass, thyme, peachy esters, hint of alcoholic warmth, finish hoppy and dry

A solid example of the "West Coast" IPA that is not loaded with crazy amount of citric hops, a lot more depth within the hop profile here which certainly grabbed my attention. Great all around.

Better late than never, right? My first encounter with Noble Ale Works, with a pint from the taps of The Catch, which ironically is located just a mile from the brewery. On to the beer:

Toasted orange with tan hues. There is a little bit of head retention, and a few kisses of lacing that stick. The nose is mild, but it does provides the essentials of a West Coast IPA, by way of grapefruit and tangerine.

The taste is "fresh" and clean, and never too bitter. There is some hop juice, also some grapefruit and a little pinch of sweetness, like lime sweet. Light biscuity malt splashes here and there. Feels lighter medium bodied, and towards the lower end of the carbonation scale.

I'm liking this. Hoppy without being over the top, which hit the spot earlier this afternoon.

Better than a B- IMO. Solid IPA. Would be a go to beer of mine if available more often. On tap at Noble Ale Works. Stopped by on my way home from the Knuckle Sandwitch release. And after having that I can say this one is pretty solid.

Poured into a plastic half pint. More than a half pint I think. pours a hazy amber color. Nice bubbles going up
