Poured into a plastic cup before the Iris parade on St. Charles St.

A: Hazy brownish/gold with a frothy one finger head that almost stayed for the parade. Lots of lacing and bubbles.

S: Picking up maple syrup, leather and some orangy citrus.

T: Really surprised in a good way! A hearty, robust taste with smokey malts, light citrus and a sweet attitude. Bready with some clove action. A slight hoppy finish.

M: Medium to heavy with chewy carbonation.

O: Glad I got more than one. This is a unique taste that I can get used to.
Let's ride out that Mardi Gras, cher.

Poured into a tulip glass. Pours slightly hazy golden with a thick white head and some visible bubbles rising in the beer. The aroma is grainy and sweet. There's some mild citrus in the smell and a faint hint of spice. The flavor is sweet and bready and there's some mild back end hop bitterness. There's some of that citrus as well as some banana and very little spiciness. The body is medium with moderate carbonation. The finish is dry and the beer drinks in a very refreshing manner. This is an excellent beer.

Poured with overwhelming carbonation. Actually took two pours to get the 12 oz bottle into a 16 oz glass. Clean white and fluffy head. Looks cloudy and light yellow. In fact, at first glance it looks like a hefe. Citrus sweetness and some grassiness in the aroma. The flavor is lead by sweet and slightly toasted malt, herbs, touch of grassy biterness from the hops. Banana in the finish, too.

Interesting flavors and really smooth. Worth a shot.

12oz bottle poured into a Cigar City snifter. Thanks to Shane (injuredreserved) for a chance to try some local flavor.

A: The beer pours a clear golden hue with very minimal head that left a touch of spotty lacing throughout the session.

S: The beer is malt forward with a biscuity bready nose. A small hint of spice (clove?) lingers at the tale end. No hop presence to speak of.

T: Again malt forward but this time i pick up a bit of hop on the back end for a bittering finish. I also picked up a touch of metallic oxidation on the back end of the taste.

M: The carbonation is the highlight of this beer. Just the right amount of fizz to carry the flavors. The mouthfeel is a little thin but still quite enjoyable.

O: Overall this is a nice beer and one that makes me jones pretty hard for some jambalaya in NOLA. They say that atmosphere can heighten the senses and I would be willing to bet this beer would taste even better down in the Big Easy than it does in my dreary rainy neck of the woods (PNW)

No freshness indicated on the bottle.

A= Pours a bright "dark piss" kinda color. The color I would imagine my piss would be tommorow morning. The head is a tight finger that holds some steady retention and some spotty lacing is left.

S= Smells a lot like butter. Huge buttery aroma with a lot of esters. Some strong green apple in it. A little biscuity as well.

T= Again just like it smells. Buttery, estery, and buiscuity. The buscuits come thorough a little more then in the aroma luckily. The off flavors are still present from the smell but a little more subdued.

M= The mouth isn't too bad actually. Nice medium mouth maybe a little more punch would be nice.

O= A beer that is filled with flaws. I have trouble finishing this. I had a friend of mine pick me up some brews from NO when she was down there and I'm happy she only brought one of these.

Bayou Teche Courir de Mardi Gras has a think, soapy, white head and a very hazy orange appearance, with a whole lot of little particles floating about (yeast?). The aroma is faint, but one detects a bit of sweetness. Taste, however, is relatively bold, with sweet malts, bread, hop bitterness, and (I think) a touch of citrus. Mouthfeel is at least medium bodied, and Courir de Mardi Gras finishes dry and very refreshing. Overall, this is another wonderful beer from Bayou Teche Brewing.

Poured into a Chimay goblet, it's a golden orange color with minimal head. Not much retention or lacing at all.

The aroma is biscuity, malty with a little funk to it. I don't pick up any real hop presence.

The taste is more of the same, except it gets a little bitter hop note at the end of the sip. That adds a nice dimension that was missing on the nose.

Really easy to drink, it's a little thin and the bitterness lingers on the finish.

It's enjoyable but I won't be rushing out for another.

A - Golden yellow with a touch of red. Nice head at first which quickly fades but a persistent thin layer of head as the beer is drunk. Slight haze.

S - Bready, touch of sweetness. Something floral in the background (my current sinus issues aren't helping). Little hop aroma.

T - Malty sweetness immediately gives way to hop bitterness (some American hop best I can tell, but again, sinuses), but still malty sweetness is there. Fairly smooth and well rounded; lager like character.

M - Medium body, high carbonation.

O - Nice malty beer rounded out by the use of the hops. I would've have liked to see a hops with a little less residual bitterness, but still a very nice example.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip.

A: Golden hue. Pours a quarter finger, bubbly, white head. Settles quickly, leaving just a dusting of foam. Effervescence continues to rise throughout. Sporadic beer ring lacing.

S: Pale grainy tone, with hints of blueberry, cherry, and raspberry.

T: Slightly bitter malt tone that presents with a surprising heartiness. Nicely balanced with a berry 'medley'.

M: Again, bitterness cuts through the palette, and lingers throughout. Light body.

D: Drink in sips, as the bitterness will dictate.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Slight head with a little lacing, and plenty of effervescence. Nose is a nice compliment of grains and mixed berry. Flavor is a bitter grain, with hints of raspberry, blueberry, and cherry. Overall, this is a good quaff.

It is pale and yellow in color, with an average size head. It smells of yeast, bread, slight caramel. It taste of bread, wheat, slight slight citrus in the finish. It is a easy drinking beer. In my amateur opinion, it is too refreshing for a beer when it's still winter.
