Visited here on a Saturday night. Not much of a crowd for a Saturday night, but not bad considering it is Oswego. Best beer selection for miles. They have 30 to 40 taps with some great choices. About 7 or 8 of which I would never order, but that still leaves 25 or so good choices. Ended up ordering a North Coast Red Seal, FFF Robert the Bruce, and FFF Rabbid Rabbit. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere with a Tom Petty tribute band in the background. Service was slightly above average, but wouldn't expect much beer knowledge from the servers. Wouldn't mind hitting this place up again if I'm out in Oswego.

Our local place that we regularly go to. Always a decent selection of beers that change each month. Food is good, and service is decent.

I was surprised to see I haven't reviewed this place yet considering it my local watering hole. The atmosphere is that of any normal bar/restaurant with sports on all the tvs. It's more upscale than a standard sports bar slash pub. The food is on the higher end of the quality spectrum for bar food and they have a good sized menu. The beer selection is solid and they get stuff like all the bcbs variants and the occasional nice surprise. The wait staff are helpful and courteous, though not very knowledgable about the beers. Prices are competitive for the area.

Overall, a very solid place that's also family friendly. I'm lucky to have it a bike ride away.

The Tap House is a great place to have a beer. There is a revolving tap list of atleast 35 beers, plus other bottles available. The tap list is usually a mix of all kinds of styles. I think the value on a pour is the same as everywhere in the Chicagoland area.

The food is good. Wide selection and the menus seems to change pretty often. I lean towards the appetizer menu for my dinners when here, but that's because I like to draw out my drinking.

There is an outdoor patio and it's a nice place to enjoy the weather, watch cars drive by, and look at the Fox River.

All in all, truly the best place for beer selection in the Oswego/yorkville area.

If there's one weird thing, it's the crowds. One Saturday it will be crazy, another dead. It's not because of games or bands, just a weird occurence I guess.

First and foremost....let' establish that we are talking about Oswego, Illinois...home to 20,000. So having any sort of bar/restaurant that serve decent beer is a BONUS!!! Yes, this is my current "home town"... the Tap House offer at minimum 40 beers on tap that rotates as well as a decent bottle menu. The food is really quite nice and I have been there several times...F'ING TATER TOTS...NEED I SAY MORE??? The service for the most part is good. those behind the bar have more knowledge than the satillite servers. So if you are not at the bar....you better know your $hit...dont expect recommendations. Will I go there again....absolutely....its 5 min from my house!

Tap House Grill stepped into a former Emmett's location, and for a while seemed to be content to hold their own with a decent menu and better-than-average beer selection. Recently they have stepped up their game, putting less common beers on tap and expanding the bottle selection. Food falls into the gastropub class, a step up from bar food, without quite reaching gourmet status (and price). Most dinner entrees are in the 10 - 20 buck range, and drafts run between 4 and 8 bucks. They are working to increase the number of brewery dinners they hold, and to build better relationships with various craft brewers. The bartenders manage the place and are quite enthusiastic about their beer selection. The wait staff, while not always enthusiastic about beer, have at least received enough training to understand what they are serving and provide basic guidance to the less beer-savvy portions of the clientele.

11/10: They have improved their tap selections significantly, worth a look if you're in the area.

This is a chain bar/grill in the old Emmett's space, right near the Fox River. The attraction is 40 taps, but for a BA there wasn't much to get excited about. This is the only halfway decent bar in the area however.

The majority of these taps don't rotate save for a few basic seasonals from Leinie's, New Belgium and Sam Adams. Notable on tap were Franziskaner, Delirium, Hennepin, Goose Matilda, 2 Bros. Bitter End, Bells Amber. About 5 Leinie's, 3-4 Miller, plenty of filler on the lines. Bottled beers were all macro. An upcoming Goose Island beer dinner featured Sofie and others for $45.

Atmosphere in the bar was pretty average, lots of games and neons all around. Near the front door there were Goose and 2 Bros. posters. Seemed to be a locals place, and not much of a destination. A seating area off to the side had a fireplace, where some families were having lunch. The bar girls seemed to be hired mainly for their good looks, but service was timely, and the beer list listed abv & style, so that was nice.

Overall this place left a bit to be desired, but it's an option if you're local or looking to entertain the family.
