A- hazy off browv with a white head
S- a caramel malt sweetness with a very earthy hop undertone
T- very nice sweetness almost overriding the hops. Most hop heavy beers aim to let the hops run rampant on the palate, so it is refreshing to see a more balanced approach to the style.
Mf- sticky with a medium body.
Definitely worth trying a pint.... Or two...

7.8% abv according to the label, and 100 IBUs. I've got to admit I'm extremely confused by this beer. It says on the bottle that it is a Double Pale Ale. It is not pale whatsoever, the label is extremely misleading. It pours a very dark amber in color, somewhat cloudy, with a brown creek like aspect. Wowzers. It smells pretty malty and almost nutty. Uh oh. Where are the hops? If they're there, it's barely. It's almost like a strong brown ale, or even an imperial amber. The flavors are very, very malty with moderate sweetness because of it. The hops are barely there. It is sweet and malty and really closer to a barleywine than a Double Extra Pale. This beerhoc platelet missed the mark. It drank thick and sticky. This one is just a very, very misleading miss. The bottle says a Double Extra Pale, the site says an American Double IPA, it is neither.

poured into a tulip
Beer is a nice burnt orange/amber color. About 1 fingers worth of frothy off-white head.
A nice hop aroma with a little sweet malt. nothing overpowering but you can definitely pick out aromas with each sniff...I think the centennial and williamette hops are dominant in this one...although there is slight citrus nose.
A big bitterness in this beer. Actually more bitter than their regular IPA. The bitterness up front moving onto a fairly big toasted malt bill. Alcohol is slightly noticeable. Nothing really shines but it's a good beer overall. Probably a top 2 or 3 Figure8 beer for me.
about medium bodied. Great carbonation in this beer.
pretty high. A go to F8 beer for me. Plus I'm only a short drive away from the tasting room and the beer is pretty inexpensive.

Had on tap.
A- Pours a darker coppery color. One finger off white head that showed medium retention. Nice sticky lacing on the sides of the glass the entire beer.
S- Nice bittery yet citrus hops in the front of this beer. Toasted malts with a light caramel sweetness to them in the middle of the beer. Light earthy tones and bitter hops in the backing of the nose. Nice smelling DIPA for sure.
T- Light bitter hop bite from the get go. Toasted malts get the best over on the caramel malts and shine a little more in the middle. Bitter hops with a light pine taste come through the backend. Simple and sweet with the flavor profile but very effective.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Bitter hops left on the palate. Light bitter hops..toasted malts and alcohol in the aftertaste. Balanced beer more so for a DIPA but the malts don't ruin the style. Medium alcohol drying on the palate. Clean tasting overall.
D- Nice drinkable beer here. I wouldn't want more than a couple pints of it. Not super big by any means but the ABV does help limit this beer a little. Nice bitter style DIPA since they got the citrus forward DIPA in Snake Pro.
