This one pours a golden honey color with an attractive bit of haze and lively visual carbonation. A really welcoming, Spring appearance. The head doesn't amount to much, and reduces to a cloud with minimal to no lacing.

The smell of this is a lot of wheat with a little spice and a bit of citrusy hop sweetness. Subtle though.

As far as taste goes, it's spicier than some other goldens I've had. The yeast is there, but less pronounced, taking a backseat to a more peppery flavor. The taste is round and full, like fruit rind. The sweetness of the agave comes across smooth and juicy, not too sweet at all.

I really like the mouthfeel of this. It's rougher. The carbonation is higher than average, and the haze comes through as a noticeable lack of filtering. The full feel of this beer really lends itself to the flavor, and makes up for a lack of astounding aroma.

Overall, this beer's worth a shot. It's not exceptional, but it is memorable. I'm drinking this one as an appetizer, and I'd definitely do so again.

A - Poured out a hazy, golden orange color with a one-finger white head. It left little to no lacing.

S - It smelled of some honey sweetness and some booziness.

T - This is a very sweet beer. Lots of sweet caramel with a heat that I guess comes from the agave.

M - It was crisp and sharp. A light to medium bodied ale with a somewhat sticky mouthfeel.

O - This is an odd beer. Hard to define, but it is very sweet with what I think is an agave flavor.

Pours a brilliant golden-orange with a dense 2 finger off-tan head. Good ring of retention. Moderate lace.

Nose is very light and delicate with aromas of faintly toasted biscuit malt and pretty agave notes of orange and tropical melon. Bit of chalky, spicy yeast.

Palate is beautifully balanced- big and creamy both from the malt and the agave- enough dry, herbal hoppiness and a nice, mouthwatering finish. In spite of its texture, the brew really lacks flavor though. Touch of buttered biscuit malt, grapefruit and hints of orange and melon from the agave, but that rich honeyed finish is all I can think about in the end.

This is sort of a strange brew for me. On one hand, it lacks a lot of flavor. But on the other, it's light, refreshing and amazingly gluggable. Sort of like a French Muscadet. For that, I think it's a winner, especially on these hot summer days. I also think they should try an Imperial Agave IPA.

Not bad looking, tannish red, crystal clear, bubbles rising plentifully, good head with some staying power and nice thick lacing.

Smell is slightly sweet, a bit malty, quite grainy and a little grassy. A slightly odd smell but not unpleasant.

Taste is a bit below average for the style. Maybe it's the agave, perhaps it's not an optimal beer ingredient after all. A little funky and skunky, malts are present and fruity flavors are very dry.

Feel is light and dry, but with a strange slickness to it, seemingly from the agave.

Drinks very so-so. Not anxious to have again. Just because an ingredient can be made into a beer doesn't always mean it should be. I'd retire this one and let it fade away and not sweat it any further, because other brews from this brewer have been pretty darn good.

Poured this one into a standard pint glass.

Pours well for a finger thick white crown, and has a mildly hazy body of copper.

In the aroma I'm getting fleshy plum like friutiness, along with hints of caramel.

Tastes pretty much like wet paper.

It is crisp and wetting to the palate and drinkable, but something has to be done about the taste.

This beer actually gave me a flashback to school. You know, chewing up paper to make a spit wad.

Poured this beer from a 22 oz bottle into a pint glass. It produced a clear copper color ale. There was a nice thick white head with decent retention. The aroma is a combination of toasted malt, butter, and broccoli. Yes broccoli. Maybe it's Agave. Im not sure what the sam hill a Agave is- a cactus? Any who- The taste of the beer is not much like the smell- It is very sweet and there is a hit of toasted malt. It has a funky aftertaste must be the agave. I am sitting here staring at this bottle, wondering how i can get around my golden rule of never preforming a drain pour. This just isn't good- not sure who took a sip of this and said "I think we had something here" but that guy should be fired. I have tried now all of Cathedral Square's beers and this is my absolute least favorite. It's just not good beer. Maybe Aloe would have worked better here. This leaves me wanting to go buy some Tequzia. Do they still make that stuff?

Update: 35 mins later... and a lot of "i think i can I think i can" I finished this bottle. The taste didn't grow on me. Next Please!

Got this as an extra in a trade with a buddy.

Looks good, a little cloudy but that's fine with me...looks like a beer

Smell is pretty bad, stinks of cooked cauliflower and not much else.

Taste is malty and bready, there's a weird tang to it that I suppose is the agave. Doesn't taste or smell anything like tequila.

Mouthfeel is normal, good level of carbonation

Drinkability is low - I split a bomber of this with my girlfriend and struggled to get mine down. Pretty nasty beer, I'll avoid it in the future.

22 oz bottle poured into a DFH wide stemmed tulip. About a half inch of tight, cream colored head that recedes pretty quick. No lacing on this one. Color is a murky and hazy light brown. No clarity, no light gets through.

Smell at first is a malty sweetness with an odd fruitiness that I think is coming from the agave. With the second pour that sweetness becomes funky, and not in a good funky way. It is more of a stale fruit, way past its prime kind of funky. Strangely, the smell does not translate into the taste. Taste has more of the malty character that has a fruit juice added to it. Taste is much better than the smell.

Mouthfeel is pretty good. It has a thick and creamy texture, though the body is more medium bodied. The carbonation is mild and is barely noticeable. Over all I would say this has been a disappointment.

The beer pours a golden orange color with a small white head. The aroma is agave, other fruit, caramel malt and some slight dirt notes. The flavor is caramel, agave, flowers, pepper and vegetables. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not a bad beer but probably not something I would try again.

Pours a clear, dark maize color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and poor lancing. Smells of yeast, sweet malt, slight citrus, earthiness, hint of hops, and a hint of butter. Fits the style of an American Amber / Red Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, earthy malt, slight yeast, slight butter, and a hint of hops. Overall, an average beer that is dominated by an earthiness in aroma and taste.

The bottle claims this is brewed with three malts, two hop varieties, and authentic imported agave nectar.

Poured from a bomber. The color is clear amber with significant bubbles and a thin white head that remains a thin layer.

The nose is all wrong... Cooked veggies (broccoli/cauliflower) and stank feet, for me, with a toasty malt background. The smell is offensive.

The taste is worlds better, with mostly toasted malt dominating and a certain level of sweetness that I'm assuming is the agave nectar, leaving most of the stank feet behind.

In the end, if you're going to drink it, don't smell it.
