Draft at Vintage, review from quickly written notes.
Black body, creamy dark tan mocha foam that lasted for awhile, leaving random spotty lace in the glass. Retention was ok, eventually the head faded into a curved ring of foam that faded seamlessly into the surface skim.
Roasty charred malt, unsweetened chocolate, fairly mild but seems like it will be bitter.
Bitter chocolate and coffee notes, dry bitterness, slightly astringent. Carb level seemed a touch high. Flavorful but the feel is a little out of balance. Tasted ok, but didn't opt for a bigger pour...

Served in a pint glass at the brew pub on 26 Mar 2011.
Pours midnight black with a tan quickly vanishing head.
Aroma is strong chocolate, coffee with a hint of molasses.
Flavor is overly bitter and reminiscent of very dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel is nice and thick yet the overly bitter nature really took this from an A- to a B beer for me. Would be much more drinkable if it had less of the dark chocolate. Worth a taste, but not a pint.

Sampled 10/9/2010 at the brewpub.
Pours dark brown/black, biege head, low retention but good lacing.
Aroma is chocolate and roast with a hint of pine.
Flavor is way too bitter for an oatmeal stout. Roast, chocolate, and oats are all present with the chocolate being the strongest.
Medium/heavy body and medium carbonation. would be more drinkable if it wasn't so bitter.
Tick.
