On tap at The Lower Depths
Appearance: Arrives at the bar with a golden colored liquid topped by a couple of inches of foam; leaves strands of lace behind
Smell: Bready, with a nice fruity character from the Citra hops
Taste: Opens bready but the fruity hops quickly take over the flavor profile; a bit of spice and pine creep in by mid-palate, as well; the finish is very clean, with the rye adding both a bit of zip and dryness at the end; the bitterness lingers in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Medium body with crisp carbonation
Overall: This is one fine APA; the fruit and bitter elements really make this one special

On-tap at The Lower Depths, Bukowski's sister bar on Comm Ave.
A- Translucent slightly amber golden, thin layer of white head that left spotty lacing, barely any carbonation- could only see a few carbonation bubbles here and there rising from the bottom.
S- Lightly hopped with some floral notes, not too aromatic, but not bad smelling.
T- Absolutely horrible. Barely any taste followed by a terrible aftertaste. One of the worst aftertastes I've ever experienced in a beer. Tasted plasticity and not beer-like at all. I'm not sure how to describe it- just down right awful.
M- Light to medium bodied. No carbonation whatsoever, fairly flat.
O- Based on the other reviews I'm assuming I got a batch that had been sitting around for awhile. Normally I try not to rate beers that I feel like had something wrong with them, but since this was collaboration beer that is only served at Bukowski's and The Lower Depths I felt like this was deserved, mainly because they shouldn't have been serving this. Even a Coors or a Bud Light would have been much better then this. I can't recommend not getting it, but I'm certainly not going to waste money on it again. Wish I could have gotten a refund. At least I know from experience other Wormtown beers aren't as bad.

On draft at Bukowskis off Boylston.
Pint glass was super clear with significant rising carbonation but no head [ beer was to rim]. Lacing was thin and spotty throughout.
Smell was resiny and floral, almost beyond a standard pale ale and closer to DIPA strength. No presence of grain/malt.
Bitterness ran throughout but midway was balanced with slight malt and floral sweetness.
Strong carbonation gave this beer some pop on the tongue. Medium body with medium/dry finish.
overall it was enjoyable but better with their food.

Light golden yellow appearance. A lot of bubbles running up the sides of the glass. A thin head but it lasts. Fresh flowery citrus hops that pop out over light biscuit malts. Flavor is just like the nose. The fresh, fruity, citrus hops are right in your face but these are all flavoring hops. Like the nose the biscuit body is crisp and has a more than average amount of carbonation. The hop combination here is awesome. Bunches of fruity citrus but with a subtle piney twist. This bar always has a great selection of beers so having it's own, that is great, only fits.

Had this at The Parish the other night. On tap in an imperial pint glass.
Golden color with a good sized head. A nice amount of lace.
Sweet malt aroma. Fruity. Citrus.
Nice bready taste. A lot of citrus, grapefruit and orange. A little bit of piney hops.
Medium-bodied and crisp.
The first beer I've tried from Wormtown. Enjoyed this a lot.

A - Golden yellow with a little amber. Translucent. The best head I've seen on a Wormtown beer thus far. Big and white and very sticky, lacing quite evenly around the glass.
S - Hops galore, lemongrass, floral notes.
T - Grassier than I picked up on the nose. Really nice and fresh tasting. Hoppy as hell but not in any offensive way, as it is really well balanced by a nice molasses style malt taste on the swallow. Really good.
M - Medium bodied, hoppy, pretty dry. A bit of hoppiness lingers but it's intentional and pleasant. The nice big sticky head contributes to each sip nicely.
D - Very, very drinkable. Delicious. I could drink a growler of this all by myself. All in all, Wormtown continues to improve. They're getting the mouthfeel thing down. There hasn't been any separation in any sip as it enters my mouth and as I swallow for a few growlers now. There's no watery character in any of these beers anymore. They're coming around really nicely and I look forward to seeing them start competing with Opa Opa, Berkshire, etc. They have my support.

Dammit rudzud! Anyways, here's my review. Tap at peppercorns at wormtown dinner.
Some lighter head that leaves a lot of a sticky lacing, over mostly clear orange peach color.
Nose light wheat, light spicy and fruity rye, some nice earthy malts, blended with some light earthy slightly herbal hops and touch of musty hip resin as well as plenty of citra fruity citrus hops. Despite the nice hoppy tones its balanced and light.
Taste had a nice malty wheat flavor, hints of spicy and fruity rye, fairly bitter, a bit earthy and light musty resin with a bit more of the Citra fruity citrus and tropical fruit hops, light spicy, the rye comes stronger the more i drink. The hops add a nice flavor and some bitterness but keep far enough away to keep from becoming a heavy IPA and keep it drinkable. Finishes a bit dry with more bitterness, lingering earthy and light musty fresh hops.
Mouth is med to lighter bodied with decent carb.
Drink is good with bit dry finish, fairly bitter but not too much, the must fresh hops are nice and drinkable, pretty much sessionable. I could drink a ton of this easily.

Hey JLindros I lied to you at the beer dinner. You don't get to be the one to add this...
This was available only at the Wormtown First Annual Beer Dinner. It was named for the Bukowski's who have establishments throughout MA. This is incredibly similar to the Misty Brook Havest Ale, however, it was not wet hopped like the Misty. This is a rye pale ale and clocks in at 5.5% and 45 IBU.
A - Golden crystal appearance poured into a snifter. Half a finger head on this one that left very, very heavy side lacing. Wow, this APA is beautiful.
S - Nice hoppy aromas on this one dominated by those tropical Citra hops. The tropical notes are incredibly light. There is a nice malty sweetness as well.
T - Very nice hop profile here. This is a light pine/grapefruit but there is a super light tropical note on the back end. Very light mangos appear at the end of the mouth with some light malt notes.
M - Very nice carbonation on this. It is super light.
D - Great mouthfeel and flavour profile. Everything works in great unison. Really wish I could have more than a snifter of this, and really really wish that Misty Brook was back on tap.
