Picked this up today during my first beer run of 2012. I guess that New Year's resolution is working for me. Bottled November 2011 and poured into a Sam Perfect Pint.
A: Pours a cloudy light gold with some yellow at the bottom. Lighter than expected, but not a turnoff. Big, fluffy, stubborn white head, even with a slow pour. Sticks around for a while.
S: Hops and more hops. I'm picking up nothing from the malt, which is fine by me. Mostly floral hops with some grapefruit. The San Diegan in me is enjoying this.
T: There's that grapefruit I was smelling. Some bitterness, but a lot of citrus going on. I'm picking up even more citrus as it warms up and I'm liking it.
M: Good amount of carbonation, but I wouldn't say this is the best aspect of the beer. I'm going to need a big glass of water after this one, especially since I'm prepping for a long night of beers.
O: I really enjoyed this IPA and it made me feel like I was back on the Best Coast for a while, even though I look outside to snow everywhere. It was a very good start to the night and is something I would certainly revisit.

22 oz. bottle date April 2013, courtesy of IPAkindaguy - thanks Corey!
A - Pours cloudy with a light golden amber color. Two finger head that settles gently as I consume the beer. Intermittent lacing throughout as I drink.
S - Herbal, piney, grassy and hints of citrus throughout the nose. A faint malty backbone peaks through at the end of the nose.
T - A melding of the flavors presented at the nose. A wonderful balance of pale malts and wonderfully balanced hops. I think this beer shines through in the taste more so than the smell. Very balance, bitter but not abrasive.
M - A very drinkable beer, very nice on the palate not too sticky yet firm.
Overall, this is a wonderful IPA and I am always glad to see good east coast examples of the style. Certainly won't be confused for a west coast hop bomb but it packs enough of a punch to hold its own.

A: The beer is relatively clear yellow in color with some amber hues and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface.
S: Moderately strong aromas of fresh hops are present in the nose - pine resin and citrus stand out in particular.
T: Like the smell, this is a very hop-forward beer that has a variety of hop flavors combined with a moderate to high amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer smelled and tasted very fresh; the bottle says it was brewed this month so it can't be more than two or three weeks old. It is a really bold IPA.
Note: Bottled May 2013

Bottled May 2013
A: Pours a hazy medium golden yellow in color with light amounts of visible carbonation and some light orange + apricot highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense foamy white head that reduces to a very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit hops with some very light notes of caramel malt sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of caramel malts with moderate to strong flavors of citrus/grapefruit hops. The hop flavors are extremely fresh and that makes this beer a very enjoyable one. Moderate amounts of bitterness in the finish which lingers slightly.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: This beer is fairly well balanced without any malt sweetness coming through and just a touch of bitterness that lingers. The hop flavors are really fresh and really enjoyable. Definitely one I would be happy to have again...
