Crystal clear golden color, not the same amount of head with the real Duvel but good enough for what it is. Slightly spicy aroma with some dry malt and alcohol as well. The flavor has the obvious Duvel like characteristics just not as flamboyant, a good beer but there is no need to even think about this beer ... yet it would be perfect for the US because 99% of the bartenders in the US don't even know how to friggin pour a real Duvel. So for them to pour this into a glass is a no brainer.

A: golden colour, nice foamy head, a bit on the small side, though

S: classic duvel smell, hint of lemon zest, some malts and hops

T: again lemon, hoppy finish

M: too thin, could be a bit dryer, you don't really feel the alcohol

O: it's a good slid beer, but i'd rather take a ordinary duvel. It's just better, I don't really see a place for this one. The fact it contains less alcohol really doesn't help it, as it isn't that noticeable, so it's actually more dangerous.

Duvel Gefilterd

Appearance: golden, medium-large head, and some good lacing.

Smell: grainy malt.

Taste: grains, very faint hops, and a slight maltiness.

Mouthfeel: medium and smooth.

Overall:
This has a great feel to it. The flavor is ok and nothing more than an average pilsner. The mouthfeel is great and smooth.

Reviewed from notes-
A- Poured into tulip. 1.5 finger head that fades much faster than regular Duvel. Light gold body that is clear, some lacing.
S- Good, light fruits and yeast. Apple, pear.
T- Slightly boring in comparison to regular Duvel. Basically a dry filtered version so there is less flavor.
O- My understanding is that this beer is the filtered version of Duvel, thus not bottle conditioned. It comes off more dry and less complex, but would be a great session beer if I lived in Belgium (if only). I really wouldn't seek this out if you live in the US though.

A: Pours pale golden with a large white airy light head that slowly sinks into nice lacings. Rich visible bubbles.

S: Rich sour sweet malt and lots of fruits, green apples and oranges. Spices (pepper, mainly) and yeast, kind of like there's brett in it. Dry!

T: Dry sour and bitterness. A mild sweetness is noticable in the malt, but rather faint. Lots of fruits; green apples and mild orange sezt. Spices and yeast.

M: Body is medium, creamy and bone dry. Carbonation is surprisingly mild and smooth. Aftertaste is sour and bitter.

O: A nice ale, surprisingly complex considering that it has been filtered.

Poured on tap at Birch & Barley/Churchkey DC into a tulip glass.

A soupy like head with not much rock white retention sits. Clear bodied pale amber like in color with lots of very fast rising carbonation. Lacing on the glass leaves a stickyness quality spiderweb.

Nose is a small kind of candy like and Belgian yeast, the classic sense, a little small though.

Taste is interesting a mix of sour and sweet with an interesting malt sensation. Lemon as well easy on the palate, with a little bit of prickly carbonation also. Some chewy wheat like feel too with a hint of candied sugar.

Overall this is alright it actually reminds me of a much better version of Delirium Tremens.

S - Aromas of grain and hops with a little yeast.

T - Very hoppy almost like an APA, very grassy with some citrus and spice.

M - Nice medium carbonation and light body.

O - Worth a try

Duvel Gefilterd or Duvel Groen as it is also called, differs from normal Duvel in that as the name suggest that it was filtered and therefore isn't bottle fermented. Usually can be found only in bottles in Belgium and is not that common or well known. It was served in a Duvel tulip with their coat of arms on the glass as opposed to the regular Duvel glass.

A: lot of carbonation going on, clear pale yellow, with a sparkling 1 finger head
S: smells of hops, some yeast, floral, minor hint of citrus peel
T: very strong on hops, very bitter, too bitter for me, the bitter hops in turn overpower everything else, tastes like a very young beer which it sort of is, grass, minor spices, some citrus
M: very crisp & dry, light body
D: bit too much carbonation & bitterness, overall came across as being a too young Duvel that was really in need of bottle fermentation, might be more enjoyable to people in the States given the dominating hops

M: nice carbonation, slightly mouth puckering and astringent.
D: very very good. one of the best ive had in awhile. its sad that it comes in a 25cl bottle. :(
