Let's start with the gold and black decorated beautiful big 750ml bottle with red lettering. Snazzy. Next you pour this mother and you get the massive light foamy white head that is Duvel legendary.
The aroma is pretty good also. Smells like a nice clean beer and fruity. The aroma is far different than what I remember. I detect a little sweetness and fruitiness. As opposed to Duvel's strong lager smell.
The taste is surprisingly remindful of a tripel. This beer is clean and crisp with a slight fruitiness and light sweetness. Reminds me of Chimay's classic tripel.
A great beer surpassing the original by a long way. This beer was brewed specifically with Paul Desmonds music in mind. A nice tasty dry beer to go with his Take Five solo on a Selmer B flat alto saxophone recorded February 9, 1959 and released that same year.

A: very pale blonde colour, real good white typical duvel head that sticks really well to the glass.
S: a lot of citrus, and hops, a bit floral, even a hint of peaches and pineapple
T: the floral accents are there, the hops are certainly there, especially at the end, this is all well balanced with the fruitiness that is there, lemon, peach, pear,...
M: Medium body, very dry, alcohol is quite noticeable, which is a good thing
O: this is once again a beer that proves that I appreciate Belgian brewers more then most American craft-brewers, I like hoppiness but a beer needs balance this is one of those beers that proves that. It's a nice change for a regular Duvel, but it isn't better, however that doesn't matter, as it is a really good beer that stands on it's own, although its roots are clear.

Smell: barley pears, cream, piney hops, and sugar
Taste: bitter white grapefruit, pears, pine sap, lemon flavored jelly beans, and mild hints of creaminess; a very full-flavored beer
This Belgian tripel ipa goes impeccably well with top sirloin and/or a goat cheese, turkey, and fig jam sandwich

A- It pours a hazy golden straw with a thick white head. Head retention is excellent, and there are well formed rings of lace down the sides of the glass.
S- Lots of citrus, along with piney and grassy hops. It's very fruity, with lots of spicy and earthy yeast esters. It smells almost too good to drink, almost.
T- Faint hints of sweet malt dance on the palate with strong notes of citrus. There is a distinct belgian spiciness. The finish is dry, with strong notes of grapefruit. It's very light and refreshing, but it's very complex.
M- It's medium/light bodied, with lots of carbonation. The alcohol is hidden surprisingly well, but still offers up some warmth.
O- Glad I bought this one. It's simply incredible.
