Notes taken from 9/29 from the craziest bottle share that i have ever been a part of. Thanks so much to the NYC and Hoboken crew for letting me participate in this incredible day of drinking long time wants and insanity.
Thanks kindly for sharing. Enjoyed side-by-side with the newest batch of Framboos.
a - looks like a strawberry smoothie. every glass poured looks like the last pour of the bottle. thick and not really very beery.
s - fresh fruit. raspberries with sour cherries. a bit sharper on the nose, but smells amazing. sour eggs. just like the framboos but add sour cherries.
t - that is nuts. just AMAZING sour medley. the raspberry dances with sour cherries. blows the framboos out of the water.
m - great balance. sour, but tickles my mouth. really enjoyable.
o - overall unreal beer. just phenomenal. one of the highlights of an INSANE day.

Bottled on 14/02/2007.
Dark, maroon pour with brownish tones. Subtle, white bubbling atop with idle carbonation in the body. Smells similar to Framboos '11– jammy raspberry, gentle tartness, stale attic air, stagnant dust, with some sweetness and funk. But more potent and whole due to the age and cellaring. The nose is incredible and just worth the attention.
Flavors begin with raspberry tartness and traditional lambic funk, then transition into a period of sugary sweetness and woody oak. Finishes off with lingering tartness on the tip of the tongue. Like the smell, much more rounder than Framboos '11. Definitely more distinct and much more preferable. Such a delicious beer– DAMN.
Was very fortunate to procure this bottle, and slay my #1, personal "white whale".

Bottle shared amongst BA's for one of the most ridiculous "lunch's" at the Torst opening!
Poured side by side by side with 2012 Blabaer and 2005 Fou foun.
Bottle poured a deep cherry red. Nose was straight up raspberry jam. A delicate balance between cheese funk, sweetness from the raspberry and tartness. By far the most complex out of the three bottles we had. Although well balanced flavors, all of the flavors were explosive.

2007 bottle shared with my lovely wife at Brouwer's Cafe.
Appearance. Pours a light red with a little maroon and barely a skim of white head.
Smell. Very funky with a ton of wood, sour pie cherries and just a little hint of raspberries.
Taste. Tart, sour cherry, nice strong funk with a little cheese, lots of wood and leather in the finish.
Mouthfeel. Light body, fairly low amount of fine and lively carbonation.
Overall. A fantastic lambic that has probably lost a lot of it's fruit flavour going by the ingredients. Worth the $70? No, but what beer is. A fun experience for sure.

Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a tulip. Tasted side by side with 2011 Framboos
Hommage pours a hazy crimson color with just a tiny wisp of an off white head.
The raspberries are definitely noticeable in the nose, although the cherries are surprisingly prominent. A strong tart aroma has a strong acetic vinegar component to it. The acidity in the aroma seems to mostly overwhelm any funky wild elements that might be there.
Cherry is actually the stronger flavor coming through with my first sip. Tart cherries, overripe cherry skin, sour raspberry, red grapes, oak, and balsamic vinegar all come together nicely. The flavor has a gentle sweetness up front and then strikes a nice balance between fruity tartness and acetic vinegar. There is a slightly off-putting plasticy note that comes through at the beginning of the sip, but other than that this is very enjoyable.
It has a nice, smooth, medium body for a lambic that is peppered with vinegar acidity. The carbonation is on the lighter side of medium, and there is a slightly oaky and tannic finish.
This is clearly a well-crafted lambic. I thought that raspberries would be the dominant fruit, but I was not disappointed that the cherries came through so strongly. The plastic flavor in the flavor was enough for me to knock down the flavor and overall score, but everything else was solid.

750 ml bottle generously shared by cpferris. Big thanks to Chad. Pours a reddish amber with a small white head that settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing on the glass. The aroma is lots of cherry, some raspberry, a light medicinal note, and funky oak. The initial taste is sweet with some cherry and raspberry. There is also lots of funky oak and a light medicinal note. The finish is tart and funky. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Quite Tasty.

Bottle side-by-side with Framboos 2011. Pale red with orange higlights and no head. Looks a little bit like a bad wine. Aroma has some of those rotten raspberries but there is also cherries and barnyard. Flavors are mostly cherries, cherry pie sweetness, old raspeberries and lemon acid. Low carbonation. This one was less bad than Framboos but not very good.

Thanks Brandon for sharing this 2007 bottle...
The beer pours a rusty brown with no head. The nose is a ripe, almost rotten, tomato that's very potent and possesses almost no sour. No additional fruit comes through. The taste changes to a beefy sour, but seems more like drinking a V8 with some gueuze mixed in. It almost tastes like rasberry, but not quite. The aftertaste is a slightly vegetal/fruity with an interesting bitterness that lingers. It's very drinkable regardless and presents an unlikely mix of both vegetable and fruit. Worth trying again, but I wouldn't hold onto this beer any longer...
