I came here the night before Hunahpu's release 2012, which was the barrel aged beer night. We arrived around 5 and the place was fairly crowded, but certainly not packed. It is down the street from the gulf on a nice quiet street with other shops and houses. It looks like a beach house with a large patio out front with plenty of seating. A large opening brings you inside the main bar, which is quite small. The theme is certainly tropical, but done in a very classy way. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here.

Peg and Doug were both there while I was at the bar and both answered a few questions I had concerning the bar and the beer. Both were extremely friendly. Our server was also very helpful and friendly.

They had Rare DOS, RareR DOS, Funky DOS, Batch 100, and Barrel Aged Porter on tap, all remarkable. I apparently just missed Double Rainbow Jelly Donut - oh well. They also had an IPA on tap and maybe a couple others. I wish they had a few special non-dark beers, but a very small complaint. They also had quite a few guest bottled beers, but that was not going to happen.

The food is fresh Mexican. It was quite tasty. I was very impressed and would come here just for the food.

I haven't reviewed a "place" in a while, but my recent trip to Peg's absolutely warrents it.

My lady, Pops and myself stopped in here on Friday, June 7th while visiting friends in Orlando. Nothing says "good times" like a road trip to a brewery!

First off, the little town of Gulfport ain't nothin' to look at - it's pretty low key and the houses surrounding the downtown strip are a bit...dumpy, shall I say? But once you walk thru the gate in front of Peg's, you're in your own little FL paradise. Like a Jimmy Buffett song come to life. Rat Pack music playing, well kept and extremely cozy.

We sat outside and were served by Sarah, who rivals some of the best servers I've ever had. She was really attentive, bright, bubbly and informative. She really took interest in us, and made the trip to Peg's even that much better.

My group ordered main courses, and shared the fish dip, which was outstanding. In fact all of the dishes were terrific. Most of us got seafood, and all of it was flavorful, fresh and executed to perfection. The mahi tacos were to die for, and my father's crab quesidilla was killer. And if you're not into seafood, don't despair, as the Frito Bandito burrito was awesome.

The beers you ask? As expected - some of the best in the US of A. Seriously, they were epic. RareR DOS is easily the best beer I've ever had (and I've had a few, mind you), so having the chance to tick the rest of their regular line up plus some seasonal/one-offs (including Cherry Rare DOS) was a real treat. We even got a couple of 32oz growlers to go.

Sure, we hit Cigar City later that day, and we drank as much local FL beer as we could get our lips on. But on the plane back, and every day since, we've talked about nothing else but how kick-ass our visit to Peg's was. Easily the highlight of our entire trip, and a place that I will forever hold fondly in my beer-filled heart.

Without question a must-stop on any FL trip, as Peg's ranks as one of my top-five beer destinations.

This place was wonderful. The inside is tiny, which gives it a great homegrown atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, also very hardworking. There's not much room on the inside of this place but the outside if fairly large and the two bartender/servers were running around at all times, making sure everyone was happy. The beers they have were very good and you could tell they were proud of their products. At $5 a pint it wasn't too shabby. My rationale for selecting the $$$ tier is the price of the food, which was a bit high, but still ok for the quality of it. They also do growler fills for $8 + $5 for the glass, unless you have another growler from any FL ONLY brewery. Finally, you should be aware that they do not take any credit cards. They only accept cash, checks and debit (only on purchases over $15). Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area. I look forward to their brewery expansion coming this summer!

My girlfriend and I took an impromptu trip one Friday and ended up at Peg's. We had heard about the good beer being brewed there, and we wanted a nice lunch and a few brews. The place is SMALL, two small tables and a bar that might seat ten inside. Most of the tables are outside on the deck, or on the lawn around the building. It used to be a small bungalow that has been transformed into a restaurant.

The service is very friendly, and they know their beer! Ask a few questions and if your server can't answer the brewer may come out to talk to you! Very helpful making choices.

The beers we tried were outstanding! The food was just as good. I would go there even if I didn't want a beer just for the food! Of course I would go there for beer even if I wasn't hungry.

The only thing I didn't like about the place is how far away it is from us. If you are anywhere near Gulfport, go to Peg's.

Great atmosphere, and beautiful people. My wife and I was refreshingly renewed. The quaint little town of Gulfport is both inviting and culturally diverse and will forever stand out as a spot to go and relax, have wonderfully brewed beverages, and mingle among friendy locals. My heart was full leaving and I am already planning my next trip. The Berlinere Bash is a can't miss event if you want to sample some unique brews like you've never experienced before.

I stopped by here this past weekend as I drove through the state and this place...I was here for about 30 minutes during Hunaphu, but didn't get a chance to taste the food or a seat at the bar. I'll keep this short, you have to check this place out. A seemingly hole in the wall strip of bars in Gulfport hides Peg's from outsiders. The place is small, inside bar sits maybe 10 people, probably 15 tables outside. The service is excellent, the beers are amazing (try a stout if they have any on tap) and the food is out of this world. I only wish it were closer. I'll be stoping by every time I drive down 75.

My wife and I discovered this gem shortly after moving to Gulfport, and have been there at least once a week since. Just a great atmosphere all around, and a great place to talk beer. The food is very good, portions are on the smaller side for the price, but I think it's ideal for lunch. The staff is awesome, always upbeat and friendly, and love talking about beer. I can't recommend this place more, and the barrel aged event that they host every year is a can't miss event.

I attended the Cycle Brewing BA release on Friday, March 8th.

Place was packed for the event, but Peg was gracious enough to allow the entire patio to be reserved for about 30 BAs doing a bottle share (epic, by the way). Our server was very busy, but friendly, prompt and accurate. The food might have been a bit pricey, but certainly not over the top, and it was delicious.
The beer was fantastic, of course. They had all different types of Rare and Rarer on, including coconut and chili versions.
The event was great, as was the food and beer and hospitality of the host. I would highly recommend Peg's to anyone who digs on beer and food.

We visited Peg's on March 2nd at about 1:30pm. There were only a few other people in the restaurant at the time. The service was good, as was the beer selection. The waitress was knowledgeable about the different beers that they had for sale. The Mexican themed menu is not extensive, but everyone in our group was happy with their meals. We enjoyed a second round of beer and hung out on the porch for a while enjoying the day.

Peg's serves their own Cycle Brewing beer as well as several other local drafts.

I would gladly recommend Peg's for a beer and a light lunch or dinner. Our appetizers and lunch for four with 2 beers each came to about $95.00.

Visiting the area, I was told this was a must stop. It certainly is. I wish I live in St Pete; I'd be at Pag"s a lot.
Peg's is a refurbished bungalow located on a nice street. Indoors is a bar with a few tables. There is a small enclosed room off the bar, and a latge outdoor patio. My party of six sat on the patio on a very pleasant late February evening. Loved the atmosphere, very laid back and relaxed.
Seven Cycle beers on tap. I had a couple Motueka APAs, very nice. My daughter enjoyed a Resolutionary Ale, which she really liked. The rest of the crew, for some reason, drank sangria. There were also three guest taps, and one import tap. A few bottles were available.
The food was excellent, and nobody was disappointed. There were many vegetarian/vegan entrees. Two of us had a vegerito burrito (vegan style), and loved it. We also had a sweet potato/black bean burrito, also great. The non-vegans had fish tacos and salsa verde enchiladas, and gave them two thumbs up.
Service was friendly and excellent.
Great beer, great food, great atmosphere. What could be better?
