From 08/24/11 notes. Stopped into Peg's on my way from the Tampa airport to the house on vacation and tried their three beers on tap. Sadly no Rare DOS but the three on tap were all pretty good. Served in a snifter, the menu said it was 9.5% ABV.
a - Pours a dark brown, almost black color, with one inch or so of off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of roasted malts, light coffee, and light chocolate malts. Pretty ncie and very roasty.
t - Tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, light coffee, and light fruit. Not as much coffee as the nose and the fruit is nice; definitely a step up from the nose.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Very smooth and creamy, and no heat at 9.5% ABV.
o - Overall a very good stout; would love to try that Rare DOS even more now. Very roasty and great on a cool night. Would have it again.

On tap at Brewer's Ball.
A: Pours deep dark black with a very small head. Little retention or lace.
S: Nice roast with notes of chocolate, coffee, and mild dark fruit ntoes.
T: Lots of rich deep roasted malt. Sweet chocolate for sure with strong dark fruit notes that seem to blend well with the roast. Comes off fairly aggressively hopped. Nice bitter hoppy finish.
M: On the fuller side of body, rich, pretty smooth. Like the hopped up finish.
D: Good drinker, tasty beer.
