This place is my favorite spot in the Ypsi/Ann Arbor area. The guys who run the place are very nice. They update their Facebook page quite often. If you have a question for them, just post it on their Facebook and they are quick to reply. Selection is good, they also get quite a few of the seasonal and small releases from all the breweries in the state. They really know their beer and know what is on their shelves. If I lived a bit closer to them I would be in once a week, but since I am on the other side of town I only visit once a month. Really love this place though.

When I visited: March 2012.
What I bought: J.W. Lees Harvest Ale (Port Cask), Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon, Jolly Pumpkin Oro De Calabaza, Collababeire Special Holiday Ale, and La Roja.
What I liked: Ridiculous variety with beers from Bear Republic, Arcadia, Bell’s, Avery, Rogue, Sierra Nevada, Stone, Dogfish Head, Mikkeller, Goose Island, and Unibroue, among many others. Outstanding service from the owner, who opened early for us, pointed me toward the new arrivals, helped me select the best JP beers, and boxed my purchases to prevent hassles at the border.
What I disliked: Prices are on the steep side and the selection is smaller than the top tier stores in the Great Lakes region. But this is an exceptionally good bottle shop.
Would I go back? Absolutely.

My absolute favorite place to purchase beer is the Wine Seller. Although the name might be misleading, the Wine Seller has an excellent and up-to-date selection of Michigan, USA, and International beer. I'm always looking for the newest thing in beer, and the Wine Seller always seems to have something new in stock. They also don't jack up the prices on those special beers that come out every so often, unlike some other places in Ann Arbor. The proprietor is very responsive to suggestion for beers and he understands and appreciates the craft beer market. You cannot go wrong by shopping at the Wine Seller for your craft beer experience.

If you live in AA, this is the place to go for beer. Make your own six packs and sign ups for the big dogs like 120 Minute IPA and Founders KBS. Huge wine selection as well, so you can convince the wife to come along.
Owners are extremely helpful and willing to find beer that you want to try. Make-your-owns get a little expensive sometimes, but overall beer prices are in line with most other places. Really, if you can't find a beer anywhere else, you need to stop by Wine Seller. I can't imagine them not being able to find exactly what you're looking for. Huge stocks of Hopslam in season as well.

This is my go to place since I have started working in the Ann Arbor area just over a year ago. The store is run by two brothers who care about the product they sell, and the customers they sell it to.
The store is split into two areas, the beer selection is in the front as you walk in, while the back half of the store has an incredible wine selection.
The beer selection is made up of a Michigan craft beer selection, an area of popular new releases, 6 pks, 4 pks, and bombers from around the country and world, and finally an area of singles to make your own 6 pks.
Their prices are very reasonable. Nothing off board from what one would see at other stores.
The quality of both the variety of beer that they sell and the customer service by which they sell it are second to none. If there is something that you want that they don't have in stock , they will go out of there way to try and bring it in. Every time I walk in there, I am greeted with a "hi" and my name.
Just an awesome place to frequent to talk and buy beer!

First heard about this place on BA but it didn't have that many reviews at the time. Boy am I glad I did; this place is a little known gem. After checking out some of the other stores around the Ann Arbor area this is my go-to store for a few reasons. The staff there are always friendly and more than willing to help out or provide some recommendations or info on their current deals. The selection is pretty good compared to the other stores in the Ann Arbor area; they have an excellent of Michigan and midwest brews including lots of the seasonal releases. A short list of beers include Founders, Bells, Dark Horse, Jolly Pumpkin, Shorts, Great Lakes, Rogue, Avery, Stone, Dogfish, Mikkeller, Weihenstephaner, Unibroue and many, many more. Also lots of glassware and I am never concerned that I'm buying a beer that has been sitting on a shelf for months at a time. One of my favorite perks is that they have a pretty decent mix-a-six wall so I've had the opportunity to try a lot more beers. Recently they have been updating their Facebook page with all of the new beers they get in which has helped me track down some of the beers on my hit list from the convenience of my desk. Probably the most appealing aspect of The Wine Seller is their pricing; in my opinion it's second to none and you'll be able to get a lot more for your hard earned dollar (I know I have).

For me this is the place where I get most of my beer. They have a decent selection of founders and bells offerings, especially with the special releases and seasonals. The staff is also very friendly and helpful with any questions and info on special releases. The prices are also much cheaper than other options, like beer depot. If you are looking for a good selection of michigan beers or if you need help finding them this is the place to go. This is probably my favorite place to go in ann arbor for my everyday beers.

The front 3rd if the store is dedicated to beer, the rest is wine. Impressive selection of glassware, dozens of glasses to choose from and about 10 that I haven't found before. The beers are MI-focused but include some nice imports as well. Maybe 100+ domestic selections and another 100 from abroad, split primarily between the usual suspects. Single bottles available at decent prices. I found a few beers that aren't normally seen, didn't find those particular ones in other spots in Ann Arbor either. Worth a stop for sure.

I love this store. Anytime I'm in the mood for a new, tasty beer, I head over and buy whatever the owners recommend. They are always really helpful, enthusiastic, and willing to spend 5-10 minutes talking about their experience with their current selection of craft beer. They do a good job in carrying seasonal beer as well.
They have yet to recommend a beer I would call bad.
One other thing they've been very helpful with is in guiding me in some of my friends' beerucation. They've presented a solid curriculum of beers to try in an order that moves outside of the of a non-beer-lover's confort zone without being too startling. I'm glad to have a store like that so near to me.

Stopped up here for some shorts brews and was very pleased with my visit. As soon as I stepped in I was greeted and questioned about what my tastes were like and had some nice recommendations offered. The front half of the store is all beer with a wide selection so I got to wander around looking at all the goodies while they held my key lime pie at the register. There's a cooler for cold sixers and a back shelf for mix-a-pack options. They seem to get most of the special release stuff and keep all the seasonals fresh. So point is, this is a great stop if you're around Ann arbor and it sure beats the grocery trip feeling of some of the bigger chain stores around.
