I think this beer was unfairly reviewed previously. However; I didn't taste their bottle. Poured into a St Bernardus Goblet which isnt the right glass but who gives a shit. Solid head, some lacing as it fades, moderate lacing. The nose is floral, sweet, bread, some herbaceous spice. Mouthfeel is silky smooth but with a thin bite due to the high carbonation consistent with the style. Ever so slight offputting phenols on the finish but nothing egregious. Overall it's a quality local Saison. I'd drink it again for sure but probably not seek it out.

22oz (batch 2) into a Hennepin glass. Uh oh. A vigorous pour yields almost no head, just a thin film of bubbles on the surface. Color is a nice clear amber w/ some carbonation rising from the bottom, but the lack of that nice fluffy saison head is disappointing.

Aroma is spicy, bready, yeasty and maybe a little hoppy. Smells decent but not great.

Taste is... ooh. Homebrew gone wrong. Has an almost salty quality. Wince. Apple cider? A hint of vinegar? This one might be a chore. Stay open, mind! Stay open! A few more sips and - boy. I'm really not liking this much.

Mouthfeel is pretty flat. But I really just can't get past the taste to even evaluate it. Bummer.

Overall, enough said. Not sure what went wrong here - whether they just had a bad idea or whether this was just poorly executed. This was a one-and-done. Actually, not even that.

22oz bottle dipped in red wax with twine. Opened on 5.13.13 and poured into a Duvel Tulip.

A - Pours a cloudy medium brown with a huge light tan head. So much retention I thought the head would never settle down.

S - Spicy dirt and earth. Yes, I guess it is the desert.

T - Same as the nose, just cloyingly sweet.

D - Great carbonation and body.

O - Just not good! Not sure what they were trying to do here. Drain pour.
