A-dark brown color with a big tan head and good lacing
S-very citrusy, pine, roasted malt, spices
T-grapefruit, pine, roasted grains, hints of caramel, anise and a nice bitter finish
F- medium body with moderate carbonation, smooth, alcohol,well-balanced
O-Really enjoyed this black ale from F-W, a nice balance of flavors

Deep mahogany colored and opaque. A beige thick head settles out quickly. Low aroma of citrusy hops. Flavors of citrusy hops, morphing to orange rind pith, mix of pine and rye spice. Good balance of hops and malt, leaning more towards the hops, but good presence for the roasty dark malt. Rich and full mouthfeel, creamy, finishes a bit tannic. Good beer overall.
