Thanks to portia99 for this one! Poured from a bomber into a weizen glass (yeah, yeah). Bright copper with exceptional clarity, certainly much clearer than you would expect to see from a DIPA. A light-khaki colored head tops this one off; thick, fluffy, and creamy - decent retention and decent lacing.

The aroma is warming to the senses as soon as you begin to bring your face close to the glass - spicy pines and big earthy hops take charge on this. Some fruits in the background of the aroma also; grapefruit, pear, pineapple, and maybe some other types of citrus or tropical fruit. The malt provides a warm, bready smell with a bit of toasty caramel for good measure.

Right from the start, Double Jack shows its heavy, malty backbone which combats the hop profile and certainly holds its own. Bready, estery, earthy, a touch musky, and spicy, almost like clove or pepper. Hop profile consists of a bitter resin, also slightly spicy with heavy accents on the wet, pine flavors. The body is thick and heavy, accentuating the hop oil flavors. Slightly dank near the tail end.

Fruits come out a little more during the latter half of the glass - pineapple and grapefruit are the most easily identifiable. The citrus profile shows more of a bitter, pith and peel flavor, but still contributes some sweetness to the brew. A mild onion/garlic flavor sneaks its way in there, too, but is mellow enough to actually help the flavor rather than hinder it. Carbonation is pretty liberal, body is slightly sticky and pretty heavy.

Very solid DIPA - reminded me a little bit of Double Simcoe with the spiciness and malt flavors. This was much smoother and had a more friendly hop profile, complete with more fruitiness as well. I enjoyed it a bit but think it still may be a touch overrated. Extremely solid on all levels, though.

Vibrant clear orange copper. Big dense offwhite head. Good retention. Dense frosty Laces. Quite the looker.

Grapefruit, citrus, spicy resins, herbal, pine. sweet and toasty with a small wiff of alcohol.

Juicy Grapefruit and citrus, spicy resinous with some pine and ganja. Toasty with some sugary sweetness. a light alcohol bite cuts through the hops.

Oily and sticky medium+ body that is creamy and silky for an IIPA. Lively but subtle carbonation.

So good. So drinkable. So tasty. One of the best IIPAs out there. Love this one.

Double Jack pours a crystal clear amber gold with a decent head. The aroma is floral, fruity citrusy hops and sweet malt. The flavor is sweet, pale malt with a huge hop presence. Citrusy and fruity, almost soapy, but really nice. Alcohol is well only betrayed by the sweetness, overall a really nice IIPA.

Poured from bottle into glass , super clear beer that is pale in color with lots of carb bubbles floating to the top , a one inch head that disapeared quick and not much lacing

The smell is just wonderful , super hoppy with the citrus hitting first, a little pine then the sweet malt ends it all

The mouth on it is great , nice and heavy with enough carbonation to lighten it up at the end

A well balananced flavor for a double , the hops and malt seem to trade places through the drink with a nice dry bitter finish

Overall this beer is on my list to keep around the house from now on , going to enjoy drinking more of this in the future
