A dangerously drinkable Double IPA. Double Jack opens up with bright grapefruit and tangerine American hop aromas. Beautifully crafted undertones of stone fruit are revealed upon first sip, followed by the essence of blue basil and pine. A sturdy pale and crystal malt backbone brings balance to high hop intensity. Complex and aggressively hopped, and flawlessly balanced.

Perfectly clear brassy orange gold with a cakelike offwhite head. Small amounts of sticky lace decorate my tulip glass.
Sweet boozy scent wafts from the bottle, reminding me of a barleywine. Once in the glass this smells sweet and floral with a hint of tropical fruit.
Taste is first sweet and fruity. Tropical fruits. Candied fruit. Grapefruit dipped in sugar. Clementines, orange peel and lemons. A mildly sour aftertaste, like eating lemon candies. Herbal and a touch of pine. Bitterness comes in afterward in a dramatic long, slow finish. A minty flavor pops up after that! This beer really lingers on the palate. There's an apple note in there as well. Alcohol esters.
Mouth is sticky, slightly viscous and coating.
Drinkability is good and the abv is, although not hidden, managed well.
This is quite a good DIPA. I love the juxtaposition of sweet and sour notes and the finish is remarkably long.

Big. bold up front aroma and taste, but goes down easy. Amber color with nice creamy head, hoppy smell, and slick mouthfeel. This is how a double IPA should taste.

Yellowish color. Herbal aromas and flavor notes. Otherwise, a fairly average IPA. I'm not sure I understand the high marks this beer gets.

Pours a very light hazy amber, ample carbonation and a short lived head. A 12 ounce can dated 9/11/20 so over six months old. First time to find it locally so I bought it. It has grapefruit aroma and not particularly strong. Taste is all hops. Mostly grapefruit and pine. Definitely of the West Coast variety. I imagine it much crisper if it were fresh. I get some resin in the tongue. A hint of sweetness in there too. Overall I think age took it's toll but still tastes good and I'd like to give it another chance when I can get it fresh.

A-orange/gold, minimal head as expected with the high ABV
S-Smells like a a west coast double
T-tastes as advertised too. Relatively malt-forward, but never overly so. The grapefruit and pine stay up front where they belong. Above average bitter.
M-slightly above avg carbonation. Medium body.
O-One of the better WC DIPA's I've enjoyed, despite the SIX MONTH age. Fresh, this thing would be killer.
