Not enough American Brewers try their hands at hefes, and even fewer do a great job with it. Firestone has produced a very good one. Hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Aromas of orange, banana, some spiciness, a hint of bubblegum. Creamy mouthfeel. Paired nicely with pork carnitas and a pineapple salsa.

Served on tap at Firestone Walker Brewery in Paso Robles, Ca.
I was hesitant to try this beer as I used to drink a lot of hefeweizens and was pretty burnt out on them.
Pours a nice semi-opaque orange color with a half finger of head.
Smells like a standard hef but tastes like no other I've had. Lots of sweet citrus notes with a slight floral quality. The tap room employee mentioned that "no orange is required" which I'm excited to say is true. I hate getting a beer with a hunk of fruit hanging off of it.
If you're like me and possibly drank a lot of Blue Moon at some point in your life, let this hefeweizen reintroduce you to the genre. Now if only Firestone Walker would bottle this stuff!
