A stunning American IPA. This bomber was purchased at the brewery in November, a visit I’d highly recommend!

Pours a clear and oily amber, with limited white head, but good retention on the little that exists. Brilliant aroma of grapefruit and piney citrus, with a mild toffee backbone. Those caramelized malts are present in the start of the taste and support a nice body, but hops totally takeover after the first microsecond. Citrus, tropical fruit and all the wonder associated with "west coast" varietals. Finishes with a biting bitterness that lingers for an impressive length of time, and only a hint of the 7.5% ABV warmth at the very end.

Thank-you Firestone Walker - a brewery whose products I'd seek out again wherever possible.

I'm new to IPAs, so don't hate on me.

A - A light orange with highlights of soft gold and yellow; a thin white head that stays almost permanently throughout the glass; bubbles rise from bottom to head throughout the whole experience. This is a wonderful looking beer.

S - Medium hoppiness; lemon zest; lemon grass; sweet pine; light malt

T - Hoppy, piney, and citrusy on the palate; malts assuage the bitterness oft he overall effect of the hops. The aftertaste is hoppy, yet subdued because of the malt. This is a fine IPA.

M - A little too carbonated for my taste, but not so much so that it makes for an unpleasant experience.

O - I think this is a fantastic IPA. I'm a hard to please newbie when it comes to IPA, but this beer is strong, but not abrasive; hoppy, but not bitter; floral, but not soapy. I can't praise this beer enough.
