From that fist-size bottle, a deep brown beer with requisite cocoa head, though fairly sustainable. Surprising nice speckled lace rings my snifter glass.
Smells vinous with strong notes of cherry and plum with a mix of alcohol and roast malts that build to an almost spicy impression of cinnamon and ginger. Opens to a sweetly malt backing with specks of dark and raspy chocolate.
Taste is largely fruity with a calm pale malt center and a slightly dark finish of bare roastiness and espresso tart-and-bitter flicks. Just like its aroma, the flavor opens to much sweeter expressions and a reminder of those ineffable baking spices on the nose.
A little thin on the mouth but balanced in flavors. Not the most punishingly roasty stout but far from lacking in dynamics. I think bottle conditioning would greatly help its storage as well as development of complexity. Regardless, a good beer - so what's the beef people? Knee jerk reaction to a Jamaican vacation? Are most bottles getting baked by Carribean heat to sugary flatness?

284ml bottle (£1.49, Costcutter, London):
Dark black colour with a thumb sized and foamy looking white head that holds incredibly well and looks rather thick. There was a nice amount of lacing too.
Sweet smelling beer with a pleasant dark chocolate and caramel aroma coupled with some darker fruits such as raisin and figs. There was a touch of plum as well and a sort of milky chocolate aroma towards the end along with a slight touch of alcohol coming through.
Milky chocolate base with some light coffee and some stronger caramel together with the same combination of darker fruits found in the nose, notably fig, plum and raisin along with some sugar sweetness from these.
A medium body with a smooth taste and a very sweet, alcohol laced mouthfeel that was slightly creamy on the finish.
Strong and sweet beer with good depth of flavour and a lot going on with it. A good beer to drink and one that despite the hints of alcohol also went down very easily. Probably not quite as good as Lion Stout but certainly a beer I would have again should the opportunity arise.

A: Deep black with a small brown head.
S: Plums, raisins, chocolate, wood chippings.
T: Very sweet, but not sickly - strong malty flavour with lots of dark fruit.
M: Slightly over-carbonated, in a fizzy unappealling way - a bit like drinking coke.
This was much better than I'd anticipated - I definitely preferred it to Nigerian guinness which is probably the closest thing I've had - it didn't have the unpleasant lactic sourness of the guinness. Unfortunately the well-balanced flavour profile wasreally let down by excessive carbonation.

I have been searching for this beer for three years since I first tried it at a friend's party.
My search continues as I long for it's sweet intoxicating aroma and exotic buzz.
This is the beer that took my stout cherry!
If you are lucky enough to land your undeserving paws on some,
sit back and be prepared for a total mouth orgasm.
