The great Jamaican Beer we know today has set the standard by which other beers are measured since 1928. Today the company is a subsidiary of one of the largest and most profitable beverage and alcohol conglomerates Heineken.
A beautiful amber lager with low butterscotch flavour, full bodied and a smooth post palate sensation. Lager beer, light gold colour.
Ingredients: Pilsen Malt, Hops, Cassava Starch, Water

Red Stripe pours a very pale straw yellow with a white head that quickly dissipates and leaves no lacing on the glass. The aroma is a faint, very faint, malt with a hint of honey and citrus. Taste is very one dimensional. Very carbonated lightly flavored malt water with a hint of citrus and corn sweeteners. The start, middle, and finish all taste the same to me. Mouthfeel is bubbly with a very, very thin body.
Overall this is a Caribbean Lager and nothing more; aka beach beer. It's light, crisp, and quenches your thirst. Nothing bad per say, yet nothing special or complex about it. This is not a winter beer north of the Tropic of Cancer or south of the tropic of Capricorn; IMHO.

Look: Bright yellow. So-so white foamy head that quickly recedes.
Smell: Not good. Some malt, but a little off-scented.
Taste: Simple and unsweet. Similar to Stella Artois or Peroni.
Feel: Thin and watery.
Overall: It’s a decent AAL that comes in a cool little bottle. Great for a hot day.

Decent. Quite smooth. Actually, almost too smooth, sort of buttery, with sweet overtones.
Different, tho' not bad.
Suggestion: Cut it with a macro lager such as Bud, that has more carbonation, and it's just about perfect ! .)

Pretty typical beer aroma of sweet corn and malts, heavy undertones of that butterscotch described. The body's pretty much all the same, a bright, refreshing wave of sweet corn, butterscotch, and melon. It's simple and straightforward and a pretty good macro.
