Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
L: Dark, dark pour... nearly black with thick creamy white head.
S: Roasted grains, bitter coffee, and dark fruit.
T/F: Follows the nose. Rich roasted grains and dark sugars. Baked raisin, bitter french roast coffee, and cocoa. Classic Guinness creamy mouthfeel and carbonation. Medium bodied.
O: Probably the best made beer we had in Jamaica and a solid stout.

Uniquely brewed in Jamaica.
A - Pours black body with 2 fingers of thick, lasting mocha head, solid retention and sheet lacing.
S - Roasted cocoa, dark chocolate, prunes, grapes, with a bitter espresso end note.
T - Much like the smell, with the roasted chocolate and cocoa dominating, over a prune body, and the bitter coffee on the finish.
M -More than traditional Guinness, alcohol, bitter char, and more carbonation and a pleasant prickly finish.
O - Loved it. The only beer to drink in Caribe. (in my case Utila, Honduras, goes so well with the food here at Utopia - one of the best in the world - owner- operated dive resorts.) Must try Utopia Village. Must try Foreign Extra.

As good as Dragon Stout and a tad more funky in the notes on the finish. Great find at a bar that really only sold Red Stripe in Montego Bay. Wish we could get this in Vancouver

Carbonation was different than conventional Guinness and if that were the greatest difference is have liked it more. Wanted to like it but just couldn't. Was expecting a heartier version of Guinness extra stout, but was disappointed by this altogether different kind of stout that was hoppy, bitter and sort of burnt.

Pours a black body with chestnut colored highlights. Head is 1/2 inch and coffee colored. Head retention was good and lacing was above average.
Smells are very underwhelming at first but the dominant ones are of figs, dates, and oddly burnt plastic. As beer warms more fruit is detected as well as some alcohol.
Taste is pretty fruity for a stout, has lots of characteristics of a foreign stout. Lots of dried figs/dates/prunes. Charred caramel and chocolate malts are also present. For 6.5 abv, the alcohol is definitely present
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, well carbonated. Head had some presence in the texture.
Overall this beer was alright, about average for the style. No glaring flaws to the beer just nothing out of the ordinary. Glad I tried it though.
