A: The beer pours a cloudy golden body with a thick white head. As the beer fades, it leaves a lot of lacing on the glass.

S: A good amount of funk, some wheat, fruity yeast and a tad bit of sourness.

T: Like the smell, I am picking up some strong fruit, some wheat and a tiny bit of funk

M: The beer is super smooth and goes down with ease.

O: A very good wit beer and will def get this again

Can poured into Darkness tulip.

A- Hazy light golden color with a thin light, white head that dissipates very slowly. The head just kind of hovers.

S- Belgian yeast, coriander, and clove dominate the nose with a subtle orange pop. Smells quite rich, very inviting.

T- Great, rich yeast off the top with coriander clove to round out initial taste. Rich Belgian yeast with slight malt to balance everything out. Extremely crisp.

M- Medium bodied with a pretty dry finish. Quite nice with all of the spices present keeps me coming back for more.

O- very nice wit. Lovely spring/summer ale very crisp with plenty of spice. Not overly light yet very refreshing. Cheers.

The color is a very hazy gold-amber, leaning toward gold but pushing just a bit darker. A fluffy white head develops, sitting somewhere near one finger high. It's craggy and gets dense, fading to a heavy island of foam. Lacing is left mostly in a broken ring at the top and a mixture of spotting and lacing to about halway down.
The nose is strong enough, though it doesn't pop. It does offer some of the coriander notes, but the yeast gives me a light dusty note most prominenently. Wheat makes an evident backbone. There is a bit of citrus, but it comes out more strongly in the flavor.
That said, everything melds very nicely on the tongue. The spices, citrus, yeast, and wheat are all more pronounced in the taste and complement each other nicely as well as making for some complexity in the style. There's a touch of lemon zest in the back. This is well-tuned, with yeast offering softer notes and backing off on some that many people can't get into. The nice, dusty sort of earthiness adds to softness and balance.
The mouthfeel is likewise soft with a nice flow to it in a light body. It doesn't forsake crispness. This is a refreshing beer and well made to style.

A - pours a clear light yellow with an ephemeral white head. Some lace. Bubbly.

S - Nice aroma of Belgian spicy yeast (clove), corriander, orange peel, soft bready malt.

T - is just like the aroma. It's clove and orange peel upfront with a mild bready finish. Pleasant spicy citrus aftertaste.

M - light body with moderate carbonation. Slightly numbing from the clove phenol.

O - this is an easy drinking, light Wit beer that has a pleasant Belgian flavor and aroma. Great summer beer that I'd gladly consume in any season.

Nice color and a white head (that falls quite quickly). Nose is good; bready and bubble gum. Flavor is smooth and consistent. Nice lemon tones that are a bit high. It all works though. Smooth feel. Very easy drinker. Nice job on a difficult style to produce.

Presentation: Revolution has really eye-catching cans with awesome graphics. Can gives a small description of the beer, ABV info, web info, and brewery info.

Appearance: I poured this out of its 12oz can into a 16oz English pint. Bottom Up pours out a hazy hay yellow with a ½ finger white foam head of a light density. Head retention was 1min before fading into a very thin ring. Not much lacing.

Smell/Aroma: Smells of coriander and spices with definite yeast-like wheat scent. Has a slight clove and sour scent with hints of citrus fruit and bubble gum.

Flavor/Taste: Taste is very citrus sweet on the front end with hints of bubble gum orange and coriander spiciness. This fades to a nice sour wheat flavor that ends with a slight spice and hop bite on the finish.

MouthFeel/Drinkability: Medium bodied with a very smooth and a very crisp carbonated feel. Very very drinkable.

Overall/Comments: A very good representation of the style with a very nice flavor profile. Very refreshing and tasty. This would make an excellent summer beer! Classified as a Witbier at 4.5% ABV. Consumed 2-18-13.

Slightly hazey banana peel yellow and brass. Quick head and a ring of foam for a it. Average bubbling.

Banana, effervescent cloves, some more spice, fruity yeast, and lightly toasted wheat malt aroma.

Soft bodied brew from start to finish. Toasty, wheaty, and yeasty. Not a lot of coriander and oranger peel flavors. Some banana peel. Easy to drink and enjoy.

White foamy head and a yeasty haziness.

Lemon peel on the nose, coriander and clean.

Modest coriander, orange peel and notes of bread.

Unassuming, refreshing, crisp and clean. A delicious wit I would love to serve up in the warmer months.

12 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours very hazy golden straw color with a small 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, coriander, clove, wheat, bread, light bubblegum, floral, earth, and yeast esters. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity. Taste of lemon, orange zest, coriander, wheat, clove, bread, floral, pepper, light bubblegum, earth, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of citrus, coriander, clove, wheat, bread, light bubblegum, earth, and yeast spices on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance and complexity of flavors; with a nice malt/spice balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. A touch watery, but its not too bad. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with almost zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good witbier. Nice flavor balance and complexity; and extremely smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12 oz can poured into dogfish snifter

Pours clear golden. Small head. Smells grainy,banana, some coriander and clove, sweet. Taste has that nice clean Belgian yeast, on the lighter side to match the appearance. This was pretty one dimensional but solid nonetheless. It's extremely drinkable and I can see myself buying it for a group of people on a warm summer day.

A: Pours a relatively clear mellow gold with a nice white head. Not much retention.

S: Soapy yeast and stone fruit, with a good dose of pleasant clovey esters. Light and sweet.

T: Taste follows the nose - bright and sweet grain, some mild coriander-like spiciness, a bit floral, crisp finish.

M: Light-bodied with crisp carbonation.

O: An entirely serviceable wit.

Reviewed from notes. Bought a can at the Root Cellar on a recent trip to Cincinnati. Poured from can into a Russian River pint glass.

A: Hazy pale yellow with a one-finger white head, and a bit of visible carbonation.

S: Grainy, wheat-y, yeasty, and maybe a smidge of hops.

T: Pilsner malt, a little lemony tang, grainy. Clean, almost absent, finish.

M: Light body, mild carbonation sensation, low to no alcohol presence.

O: Not terribly exciting, but not my favorite style either. Glad to have tried it, but probably won't again. On the upside, a very cool can.

Revolution is a new brewery to me, but I've been very impressed so far. Picked up a 6er of this stuff while in Chicago visiting family.

Served in an Elysian tulip.

A: Poured a very saturatedly cloudy, apricot with added pepper color, with quite a bit of froth and web-like lacing left on the glass.

S: Lots of spices, but it wasn't as coriander heavy as I'm used to with this style which was a good change of pace. Some bubble gum, apricots, coriander, and fresh wheat. Moderate potency.

T: Extremely bubble gum-like on the finish. Seriously, my sinuses were welcomed with fumes of peach/apricot/coriander Bubbalicious. I also got a bit of white pepper in there as well that was most welcome.

M: The finish along made this one for me. Nothing overly sweet or cloying, great carbonation bill, and the lacing was substantial.

O: Like I stated from the onset, Revolution brews some good shit.

Nice product! This is the second Revolution I tried from a can and similar to the first, it is a great product that seems to benefit from canning.

It smells nice as soon as you open the can and it pours a nice light golden yellow. The head is thin, like the IPA from revolution, but like the IPA, the light lacing is nice.

The taste is correct and well balanced, with just a light yeasty witbier taste. The aftertaste is a nice "wanna have more" taste.

Overall, this is another great canned creation that I would want to have again.

I ordered this along with some bacon fat popcorn at the Revolution Brewpub in Chicago. Served in a pint glass for $5.

The beer poured a hazy gold color with a ½-finger of white head that lasted about a minute before receding to a thin rim. Very nice lacing.

Citrus, wheat, yeast, and spicy aroma.

Very citrusy flavor, most;y orange from the orange peel, but also with other tropical fruit flavors. The wheat and Belgian yeast give it a slightly sour twang and the coriander ends up spicing the whole thing up. Very well done.

Medium bodied, smooth, and with refreshingly crisp carbonation.

I'm adding this one to my already growing list of good beers from this brewery.

(A)- Pours a hazy goldenrod color. Some good white froth and lace.

(S)- A lightly spicy biscuit and clove with some subtle lemon sweetness.

(T)- Similar to the smell. A nicely crisp lightly spicy biscuit, clove, and ever so mildly sweet lemon.

(M)- A nice crisp carbonation level. A good balance and feel for the style overall.

(O)- Overall, I quite like this. An easy favorite over something like Blue Moon, particularly since it is made locally.

Hazy yellow color with a finger of bright white beady head. Head is much smaller than expected for a wit and fades rather quickly. Fruity yeasty grainy and wheaty nose, some barnyard and saison like funk along with some bubblegum.

Really unique nice and refreshing. Medicinal up front whisps into a sweet grainy flavor. Mild citrus fruits, semi sour, finishes with a wheaty snap. Crisp and refreshing, touch of spice but doesnt hurt the throat at all. Really really nice actually. Complex, fruity, grainy, wheaty, with just the right touch of yeast snap and or spice. Really well balanced and whispy. Full of flavor, complex, and drinkable.

This beer also has a really nice rich mouthfeel. its great.

Revolution is a brewery you can really get behind. All their beers are very good, and they know their food as well. This is a dangerously drinkable Wit. Chugable even! Funky hay smell with a taste of bread and candied orange zest. The balance is really what makes this beer. My only gripe is the cost, because you can just polish these off! Was it Marx who said opiates are the beer of the masses??

Poured from a 12oz can into a pint glass.

A: Pours a hazy, light green-ish gold with a two finger clump of bright white foam clinging to the top of the glass. Retention was good and lacing was appropriate.

S: Typically fruity/spicy Wit yeast aromas with a bit of toasty grain and fresh citrus zest.

T: See above. Very clean and simple. No cloyingly sweet citrus flavors to be had. Very natural.

M: Medium bodied with a nicely spicy yeasty edge.

O: This is a perfectly quaffable summer Wit beer. Can't wait to see how it fares during the colder fall/winter Chicago months.

So, does only one person get to drink then...? Anyway, this stuf pours a lightly hazy pale brass topped by a finger or so of white foam. The nose comprises coriander, light black pepper, cracked wheat, lemon zest, orange zest, and a touch of cardamom. The taste brings in more of the same, with those orange tones really pulling their weights here. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a generally crisp (if still a touch wet) finish. Overall, a very nice, very refreshing little witbier.

I've heard servers tell people this beer is "Like Blue Moon for grown-ups". I enjoy the mild spiciness and citrus notes, but I occasionally get a sulfidic "twang" in the back of the throat following my first few gulps. I've noticed this more when the beer is really fresh. It's appearance when freshly tapped looks more like pale OJ than a beer, other than the wonderful froth that sticks around for quite some time. When in this state, the yeast is almost too much, and contributes to the aforementioned twang. Their beer always seems fresh (probably because it is), but this one benefits from sitting in the tank a few extra days. Ask the bartender if it's a new batch or not prior to committing to 16 oz. When I've ordered it outside the Logan Square brewpub (which it's starting to pop up in several other spots) this hasn't been a problem.

Had on tap at the Village Tap for their Local Tap Takeover. Served in an 8 oz. taster glass.

A: Pours a very hazy light straw color with a nice half finger white head that subsides in a light film ring.

S: Smells of subtle yeast and wheat with some nice pepper spice and citrus esters.

T: Typical bubblegum yeast with a spiced backbone. Some coriander and light pepper with a decent amount of citrus, but nothing to substantial.

M: While it went down nicely, there was absolutely no taste left on the palate. It's as if I didn't even drink it. Very odd.

O: A decent witbier, but I would pass on it given another opportunity. The mouthfeel really did it in for me and the flavors were kind of muted.

My first beer of the day. Served in a standard shaker, the beer is a hazy sunshine yellow with a farily dense and clingy white head.
It has a fresh and inviting aroma of wheat, orange and spices.

The taste is of citrus, wheat, coriander, white pepper and some flowery hints in the finish.

The mouth is slick with midlevel carbonation. I think this a pretty good example of the style and I would have no problem repeating this one.

Pours a very hazy yellowish color with a bit of gold to it. Nice white head and a bit of lacing as it falls. The nose is really nice and does a superb job hitting all the hot points in the style with a great wheat base along with some nice orange and a slight bit of coriander. Great balance between everything. The taste is the same, offering a bit of sweetness and the perfect amount of coriander and citrus peel to complement. Good body; a bit creamy. Drinks quite well. I really enjoyed this. One of the better wits I've had in a long time.
