I work right across the street from here so it is easy to go but I have only been once. I was lured by a firkin of Troeggs pale ale. It is nice that they are trying to do firkin Thursdays but as the reviewer below noted they do not put anything up on their website to let people know. Some Thursdays they have a firkin some not. This location has seen a number of places fail. Decent place but it really does not have any soul. It feels like a chain mall bar. It was crowded when I was there and the service was fairly slow. The firkin was good but a little too cold. The rest of the beer is served ice cold regardless of what style it is. Decent selection however. Just like Old Chicago before it. We had a table of 5 and I think we were the only ones drinking the firkin. The bartended really did not know beer all that well and was telling a drunk middle aged business man about the firkin. I helped her out a little. Decent bottle list. It was $5 a pint for the cask. The food was really expensive. I know the rent is not cheap there but it was out of line with pub fare. In short if they have something special on I will stop by again but it just really is not an enjoyable place to have a beer. They are straddling appealing to beer folk and coors drinkers. I think their motivation to have craft beer is driven by nothing more than profit sadly.

Visited on 3/2/10 and this place was recommended by the Cashier at Oliver's Beverage. Having been there, I probably would not go back on my next trip.
Atmosphere: Typical sports bar, happy hour look and feel to the place. I ate at the bar as I was by myself. The place was busy and felt alive, but just felt like an average bar. Nothing special.
Quality: There were a few quality ales on their list, but nothing to get excited about. Good enough to go with a diverse group of people and still get a good beer.
Service: Very good and friendly. No complaints.
Food: Decent food, again, not bad, but nothing to bring me back.
Overall, I was not impressed and would probably not go back. But there was nothing really wrong with the place, just nothing that right about it either.

We decided to give this place a try since it was a good central meeting place. Place is large, it will be interesting to see how they do because I believe a number of past restaurants at this building have failed to make it. Nice looking place, after entering the place the right side of the building looks to be the dinning area, looked nice. To the left is the bar area with many TV's. Not overly crowded even though SU was playing Georgetown and that they had a Cask of Troegs Nugget Nectar on - now the cask did kick shortly after we got there so there might have been a good after work crowd earlier. The bar area is very nice, maybe a little to nice for my take.
The only way I found out about the Troegs Cask was from this site so I hope that they might do some better communication of events like this in the future. I looked on the online calendar and they had no information about it.
The food was good, though we did not have much more than appetizers, good chili!
Beer selection was good, one of the best in the area after the brewpubs, Mahars and Lionhart. They have a lot of the mass American Lagers on tap but also some nice offerings of DFH 60 Minute, Brooklyn Lager, Arrogant Bastard, Harpoon, Saranac and Guinness. In Bottles they have a small but nice selection of the Brooklyn Local's, Ommagang, Saison Dupont, a number of DFH offerings plus others. Pricing is somewhat high on these brews but is to be expected.
The one area where this place falls apart in my opinion is service. With a total of 6 customers at the bar with at least 2 and I actually think 3 people manning the bar it took about 10 minutes before I had to get their attention, again this place did not look busy at the time we where there, was about to reach out an pull the bartender over by her nose-ring. Also I am not sure if they train the bartenders or not but when we got there I overheard one of them talking to a customer about the Troegs and that they liked the flavor - that they must put Grapefruit in the beer because they can taste it... I was going to say something but decided not to interfere with their conversation.
I will stop in again as it is a nice central spot and the number of TV's should make it a good spot to watch sports. If I am just going out for beer I will hit one of the other establishments in the area. Will update this review if things change
