Draft at Humboldt Brews in a shaker pint. Nothing overwhelming, but a solid brew. A bit mute on the nose, but that could be from the format and presentation. I enjoyed the flavor, and would order again, but not seek out specifically.

On tap at Everetts in Arcata.
Taste and smell are very reminiscent of a Belgian golden ale.. Candi sugars are predominant on both the nose and flavor profile. Crisp and drinkable. Not a whole lot going on with this beer but it shines in its simplicity.
This beer is very popular in the county and I can understand why..

On tap in Eureka.
I would note that this wonderful beer does not really seem to be a wee heavy, as currently classed, but instead is more of a general strong golden ale that does not really fit any specific classification. It is certainly on the malty side, but is different from what Scotch ales are like in my experience. It seems a lot like an ale version of a maibock in the character, which is fine by me since I love a good maibock.
Deep gold/light amber/golden orange, it has a small, creamy tan head slowly shrinking to a foamy ring and wisps with nice lace.
Aroma is raisiny grain, green grass. It’s mild but nice.
Taste is creamy raisiny grain, creamed barley, green leaves and grass, spicy-peppery element, and toast. It has a full-bodied, creamy feel. Overall, this is excellent, characterful, well-rounded, and goes well with food. It is similar to a nice maibock.

On tap at Humboldt Brews.
Pours a hazy gold color with a decent head.
Aromas are of cream, light sugars, hints of honey, and mineral hops.
Taste is pretty full flavored. Starts out with a nice creamy and sweet malty body, very light caramel, honey, and light spices. Finish has slight hints of mineral hops, and some crispness.
Mouthfeel is nice and full, smooth as well.
Drinkability is pretty good. This is a drinkable, and interesting beer, but it could use a little less sweetness, and some more hop flavors to be one I'd reach for again. Still, it's a worthy effort.
