My main reason for going to Lagunitas was the brewery tour, but my wife and I also decided to have a late lunch at the pub. The food was quite good and reasonably priced, and there are a wide array of special release and limited beers available that are almost impossible to find outside the brewery. We each ordered the beer sampler, which is priced based on which four beers you want to try. We chose eight different beers, mostly focusing on the special releases like the bourbon-aged stout and the Fusion series. It was a great way to sample a wide selection of Lagunitas brews.
After the meal we headed into the brewey for the free tour. Unfortunately so did a huge crowd of other people, many of whom were quite drunk and clearly only there for the free beer that precedes the tour. I'm pretty sure a good number of them didn't even actually tour the brewey... Anyway, if you make the trip to the brewery, make sure to go on the early tour. They pump you full of beer before taking you through. And I mean FULL of beer. I lost count of how many samples they gave the crowd, but I think it was five or six cups per person. And they came fast too. The guide jokingly said that it was because the brewery was so small and boring that they had to get us drunk before taking us on the tour.
The tour itself is fast, and the guide definitely has a set monologue that he was running through. He did make some time to answer questions though. It is an impressive brewery for a "craft brewer" and the guide pointed out that they were just getting ready to almost double their capacity. Signs of the astronomical leap in their popularity I guess. And deservedly so, as the beer, the food and the tour all were great!

I really like what they've done with the space at Lagunitas. Expansive outdoor seating area with a nice bar inside. Family friendly and dog friendly too, I think. Huge amount of seating outside and it's very relaxed all around.
Quality is pretty much what you'd expect. A brewery with very wide distribution so most people are familiar with the standard Lagunitas brews. I was there yesterday and there were some nice one-offs (The Return of Ruben and the Bretts, Wet Dog, and Marshall Ranch IPA) along with the regular lineup. Lagunitas Sucks on cask was a big highlight. Basically, they will have plenty of great beer on tap at all times. They also offer a nice sampler platter, choose your own four beers for $5. Solid deal for sure.
Service was good, friendly and prompt. Beer was fresh. We sat at the bar. The patio is great and now is weather proofed for the upcoming winter months.
Highly recommended. Only 2-3 minutes off the freeway (101) so it's very convenient to visit. Growlers available as well as tours. Excellent, relaxing place to enjoy some nice hoppy beers.

Part of my North of SF excursion along with Russian River.
Located in an industrial park like section, I never really expected to find what I did. You park right next to a big industrial building and can see a ton of huge stainless steel beer tanks right on the other side of it. Upon entering through the big black gate you see the beer garden and retail store. The beer garden has a nice outdoor, BBQ feel and an open door leads into the bar indoors. The outdoors part has a very cool feel with huge wooden chairs to lay back in or big picnic style tables, a friendly atmosphere. Once again, I am used to the beer crowds around Boston and don't always expect to see families, dogs, construction workers and people who don't care about their cellars at these type of establishments, a huge crowd was there for the Raiders game on a Sunday afternoon.
We ended up sitting at the bar. A nice taplist was awaiting us with a well-rounded selection. The beer was mostly served in the Lagunitas mason jar, which I am fine with. I didn't really order any big beers so I am not sure if they use tulips/goblets/snifters when prompted to. We split some nachos which were good, definitely better than your average UNOs nachos or something like that. The service was good but not as friendly as it seems people make out Lagunitas to be. Visited the gift shop and got a mason jar and was asked why I was only buying one, I felt that was a bit unnecessary as well.
Overall it was a good place, I wish I got to go on a tour but our schedule didn't really allow it.

Lagunitas is a whole lot of fun. When I visited there was a local band playing a set, the place was packed and, importantly, the beer was great.
Sitting at the bar, service was good with the bartenders and one of the brewers being happy to chat despite the crowd and being happy to point out their favourite beers.
The wood laden, semi-industrial setting is nice and suits the place well and I'm sure it is a little more comfortable when there isn't live music.
The selection was also good. Along with the standard range, there was also a great selection of limited releases including their Gueuze and a BA Stout.
Overall, I really liked the joint and I'd be here all the time if I lived in Petaluma.

Happened to be in the SR/Petaluma area and haven't been to the Lagunitas Brewery before. Quite an operation they have going here.
The atmosphere is very nice, it has a very classy outdoor area where you can sit at conventional wooden tables, or sit in wooden lounge chairs, all in a nicely landscaped area. The inside is pretty standard for a brewpub, some tables/bar stools in the general seating area.
The service was solid, we only ordered one appetizer and no entrees, but the appetizer arrived nice and hot (I believe it was a spinach/cheese dip of some sort). The waitress was nice and friendly, and everything was served relatively promptly.
The selection of beers are very good, you get all the favorites along with some specialties you won't find outside of the brewpub like Wet Hop Maximus, which was delightful.
Like I said, only and appetizer but the food was good, and it seemed like they had a good selection. I will have to try some entrees when I come back sometime.
Overall, a nice and laid back place to have quality beer and food, and a fun atmosphere.

A top notch brewery located in Petaluma, CA. They have a mostly outdoor restaurant/beer garden. Inside is a bar and a few tables. Outside is a large area consisting of a lot of picnic tables. It's a fantastic place to sit and enjoy a beer on a beautiful day. The food menu is pretty small, mostly consisting of some appetizers and some panini hot pressed sandwiches. The food was decent. They have about a dozen of their beers on tap. They do pints as well as samplers. I didn't see any quest taps. They also have a store on-site and they do tours periodically throughout the day. A great place to go and enjoy the great beers made by Lagunitas.

I visited while in SF on business. They have a great pub on the premises of the brewery. It's got a nice, natural outdoor patio area with rocks, dirt and grass with a small stage and plenty of seating. It's also got an inside area with a good sized center bar and seating all around it. I loved the feel of the place. It seems to have grown out of the beer.
The tap list was impressive with all of their regulars available and then some. They have sampler options but I went with a Hop Stoopid. It was very fresh and very good.
The staff was young, energetic and helpful.
I really enjoyed my visit and could really see my wife and I there as regulars if we lived in the area. This is my kind of place.

I’ve been here a couple times for lunch and both times I’ve had a pleasant experience. The large outdoor seating area is great for parties or just hanging out on a nice day. They also have an area for a band to set up. The inside is small and consists of a large bar surrounded by small bar tables. There is a gift shop in a building adjacent to the restaurant, and a taproom inside the brewery itself. Tours are held on Saturdays only, and one of these days I would like to experience it.
The food menu is small and consists of salads, sandwiches, and a few other goodies. If you time it right sometimes they have fresh oysters on the menu. Their beers selection is amazing because there is always something new on tap. They also cater to those of us who want to try all their brewery exclusive selections while still being able to drive as they offer build your own sampler flights for a very reasonable price.
Overall, Lagunitas is a go-to spot for lunch or a drink if you’re in the area. Any place that give you pretzels and peanuts when you sit down is worthy in my book.

I'm a big fan of Lagunitas beers so it was a given that my buddy and I would need to visit on our beer pilgrimage to the Russian River area. Pulled up in the parking lot and... CLOSED Monday and Tuesday. Fortunately I was able to come back next weekend by myself although my buddy was already back in Texas.
Large outdoor beer garden with a jazzy sort of band playing. Large crowd on a Sunday afternoon both in and outside. Had a very reasonably priced sampler (believe it was 4 for $5) of beers that I've never had before including bourbon cappucino stout. Service was a little slow but the place was packed so not surprising. Very relaxed and sociable crowd - sometimes it's more fun going to these places alone. Good little gift shop on site as well. Don't understand the need to be closed two days a week but other than that this was a great visit.

Beautiful beer garden with comfy wooden chairs, apparently often with live music. Inside the tap room is small, with more of a bar atmosphere, although with double doors open to the garden on the nice day we were there.
We had a little trouble tracking down service, but she was very polite, helpful and prompt once we were on her radar.
I love that they have a bunch of rotating tap-only offerings, including some barrel-aged goodness, and the $5 taster of any four seems like a great deal, although none of my party took advantage this time.
All of the food we tried was good, although standout for me was the chips and salsa with an avocado half hiding in there, so apparently I am easily pleased without the food's needing much preparation at all.
