Tried this at the brewpub in Petaluma. From notes.
Pours a cloudy hay colored with a wispy white head. A bit of lace sticks to the glass. The aroma is tart and very lightly funky. Some biscuity sweetness shows in the nose as well. The taste is lemony and moderately sour with some earthy bitterness and a little bit of brett funk. Field berries also add to the mix. The mouthfeel is pretty full bodied with an active carbonation. Sourness in the finish lasts a short while.
This is a nice America Wild Ale imo. Sour but well balanced with malt sweetness. The funk could be stronger. Still great, and I'm sure age will be awesome for it.

On tap at the brewpub.
A- yellow gold, slightly hazy, has decent lacing and a good appearance.
S- fresh banana yeastiness, straw yeast, some malt in the background but mostly light with some floral character.
T- slight bitterness, subtle yeatiness, could be more flavour forward. Pretty respectable though.
M- pleasant, slight carbonation, refreshing and has a solid crisp finish.
Nice drinking saison, but far from the most interesting one I've tried, pleasant but not inspiring.

What a weird beer. Never had anything like it. Pours a cloudy yellow, with thin white head. Solid lacing though. Aroma, some might call it convuluted, some might call it complex, I tend to lean towards the 'all over the place' descriptor. You get farmhouse, a perfumy kind of fruit, and brett moreso than specific gueuze lambic like sourness or fruit notes. Lots of white wine type grape and oak qualities in it as well. Seems like belgian yeast phenols at the same time as well.
Taste, sourness is much lighter than most gueuzes, again, this doesn't really seem to be a gueuze, but nonetheless, you call it that, its gonna be compared with all other gueuezes. The perfumy flowery funk isn't offensive, its like being in a garden.
I dunno, its kind of like its really good for a saison, underwhelming for a gueuze.

On tap for the 2012 Peter Reeves Memorial Sourfest at Churchill’s Pub & Grille in San Marcos, CA.
Pours a clear orange with a foamy bone colored head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is malt, grain, yeast, and Brett. Taste is much the same with a slightly medicinal and funky finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but not very sour.

On tap at the source.
A: Pours a slightly hazy amberish orange with a trace white head which quickly fades to the rim leaving clumpy lace behind.
N: Sharp tannins, cheesy funky must and dust. There is a lovely "old" smell that is difficult to describe.
T: Fruity (cherries), oak tannin bite with moderate acidity.
M: Semi-moderate body and carbonation. Tart finish.
O: Not expecting this and was pleased to find it so good. Nice work.

Poured from tap into a tulip. Pours a nice dark orange/gold color with a very frothy head.
Very good aromas of spices, funk, navel oranges and a good amount of citrus notes as well. Good depth, not as funky as I would expect given its called a gueuze.
Medium bodies with a nice feel, but lacking on the mid a slight bit. It does have a very nice dry finish to it with a lot of flavors of spice, citrus, and funky notes.
It's not really a gueuze. It's the little sumpin wild aged in wine barrels. As a gueuze it doesn't fully hit, but it is a very good wild ale.

On-tap at Map Room. Served in a tulip.
A - White foam settles to a creamy cap, solid collar, leaving plenty of lace. Very dark brown-orange body with a hint of transparency.
S - Smell is interesting, and not totally what I was expecting. Lots of earthy and farmy brett, with oak, spicy and estery Belgian yeast, and some surprising citrus hop presence. Is the base for this beer A Little Sumpin' Wild?
T - Taste is also very earthy and farmy, but with a balancing sweet and sugary malt backdrop. Some unexpected lemony hop bitterness in the finish mingles with a bit of phenolic, medicinal, Belgian yeast and dry oak. Strangely refreshing.
M - Super dry, but with some residual hop resins from the base beer. Medium, juicy body. Pleasant moderate carbonation.
D - Very odd, and not particularly gueuze-like, but strangely enjoyable. Think wine barrel-aged Belgian IPA with brett and your expectations will be more than satisfied. A bit more in the way of sour/tart notes and a bit less hop presence would help - perhaps this needs to age longer.

Slightly hazed light yellow with a small white head that doesn't leave much cling down the glass.
A big, expressive aroma of barnyard funk, bright citrus and white fruit (lemon and tart green apples), along with some oak, and white wine. Complex, interesting, and delightful.
The funk is very bold and expressive and is this beer's signature, with lots of lemon, apple, and oak flavors complementing things nicely. This is great stuff.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
They probably do themselves a disservice by labeling this a gueuze, because it in no way at all resembles one. I can't understand the name here at all. That being said, this is a fantastic, funky, mildly sour, interesting, complex wild ale. Kudos to Lagunitas on this first, incredibly successful attempt.
This was probably my favorite, and certainly the most interesting, beer at the Lagunitas beer-pairing dinner.
