November 29th, 2011 was my 5-Year Anniversary on BeerAdvocate. It's been an enlightening five years.
A - Clear, golden in color with a creamy white head. Lace sticks to the glass all the way down.
S - Bready, faint scent of hops, and slightly toasted malt. You can smell the wild yeast.
T - A bit of spice and bitterness from the hops. The wild character is there. It lingers on the palate. Fruity and bready at first but settles into spice and yeast. Alcohol isn't present which is amazing for 9.4%.
M - Extremely smooth, flavorful, and well balanced. The hops are there but stay in the background to remind you that while this is an IPA, the Belgian yeast is supposed to shine.
Highly recommended. Another fantastic beer from Lagunitas. They are as consistent as any brewery in the country.
Update: had a bomber on 2/2/13 and as expected, top notch stuff. So much more than their Lil Sumpin with Belgian yeast thrown in. A very different beer. And a very delicious beer.

The beer that made me fall in love with craft beer. So sad it's been discontinued but always hoping for a rebirth

Pours a clear reddish-brown color with little head. Scent is of citrus and hops, with the taste surprisingly bitter. Light-medium mouthfeel and an aftertaste dominated by bitter hops
