On tap at the Black Squirrel the other day. Beer is brown / black with a thin brown head with no lacing and a little retention.
Aroma is boozy and strong with a big big presence.
Beer is relatively thin and the beer is all booze all the time. It is strong it is all liquor and a little sweet. Overall it is a fine beer but not a great barrel aged beer.

On tap at the Black Squirrel in DC. Served in a taster glass. Pours a very dark brown with a thin light mocha head and some spots of lacing. The nose carries a heavy dose of bourbon on top of a bit of chocolate. A bit of roast and vanilla in the background. Flavor is similarly dominated by bourbon, making this a bit one dimensional, yet still nice. Body is medium-full with low-average carbonation and a bit of booze through the finish. A fine enough barrel-aged beer, but not something I’d seek out again.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glas.
Look – jet black, as one would expect, but with a very thin layer of khaki-colored foam that dissipates slowly.
Smell – thick, syrupy, roasted type of quality. I don’t smell a lot of coffee bean in it, or at least not initially.
Taste – strong bitter taste from the hops right from the get go. But the coffee flavor actually seems to help mellow out the bitterness a bit, at least in the middle of the taste. The bitterness comes back in the finish though.
Mouthfeel – pretty well-balanced overall, with a filmy aftertaste.
Overall – not a bad tasting brew at all, and decently interesting to think about!

On tap at HopCat's wood aged festival
A: Pours a light brown with little head.
S: Bourbon and coffee.
T: Loads of bourbon upfront followed by slightly sweet coffee. The booze is light. The finish and aftertaste is a very nice coffee.
M: Medium body with weak carbonation.
O: I liked the finish on this. Needed more carbonation.
