From a 22 oz bottle. Pours a tacky, stingy yellow color, highly opaque and cloudy. Thin white head that relaxes on top, leaving a respectable trace of lacing through the top half of the beer. Nose hits with a huge assortment of pungent hops and intense grapefruits. Pineapples and mangoes are swarming around as well. First sip - slightly dank, heavy amount of oily resins and pungent hops - both bitter and sweet, a cornucopia of citruses, fruits, and pines. Malt overtones in the finish help to balance out the ending, but this beer was meant to be bitter and hoppy. Heavy on the mouth, sticky, slick, and held up by a medium amount of carbonation.

Seriously great beer. Amazing flavor, so full of pines, resins, and hops that are counterbalanced perfectly by the fruity citrus, grapefruit, and pineapple flavors which ironically come from the hops as well. Slight malt finish puts a nice close on things. I recommend this beer to everybody.

Pours a beautiful amber with a massive pillowy white head that lingers and lingers. Nice lacing, crisp and clear body.

I smell a lot of tropical fruits, some biscuity malts a little resin.

A classic west coast DIPA. tropical fruits, good malt backbone,

This is a classic for a reason. Incredibly smoothe and easy drinking. You're not reading this because you're unsure what Hop Stoopid is. HS is known, and it's known for a reason. It's a very good west DIPA.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a La Fin du Monde Tulip Glass

A: A beautiful light copper color; almost the color of honey. It pours to a big, thick white head that slowly dies down leaving lots of lacing (which persisted to the very end!).

S: Whoa, that’s a lot of hops!!! A huge hop bouquet that is dominated sticky, resinous pine. There is also a lot of citrus in there (some oranges and grapefruit maybe). This beer smells awesome!

T: What can I say, ‘effing awesome!!! Hop Stoopid, as the name suggests, has a massive hop flavor with tons of sticky piney hops. The massive amounts of bittering hops work in perfect balance with a sweet caramel malt base. There must be a huge grain bill but the sweetness is not coating or overpowering and in the end, the beer finishes very clean with lingering flavors of malt and pine and grapefruit.

M: Full, rich, round, creamy, clean.

O: This is a fantastic beer and is one of my new favorites! While the first thing that comes to mind with Hop Stoopid is buckets of hops, I am left impressed with the perfect balance of flavors. Even my hop-o-phobic wife really liked this beer!!

Appearance: It has a nice deep golden/orange color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of piney resins, grapefruit, citrus and a touch of sweet caramelly malts. Loving it so far.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has some resiny pine, grapefruit, citrus, some earthiness and sweet caramelly malts.

Mouthfeel: It has a medium/high carbonation with a very nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with great flavors and aromas. My first beer from Lagunitas and I want more!
